Just sent u email one I read your msg. How is training going? I really admire you for dong that. I would have to do a 1/2 marathon crawl right now with the back issues. Unfortunately that has put an indefinite hold on my new volunteer gig. Steroid shots did not work unfortunately so no quick fix :( But now with intensive PT and acupuncture twice a week and home exerises, it is slowly geting better. How wonderful to have your friend back in town! Hope the buggy problem is now resolved for good! Can;t believe it is Nov and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Gtting very chilly here now and I expect it won;t be ong before we get our first snow which will make all the skiers and boardheards happy :) We got new studded snowtires put on today to be ready. Hope you did not get much of that awful storm system that went through TX.

Good morning, Syl! Things are busy here - Still training for the 1/2 marathon. It's not until December 5th. The adoptions are going steady at about 2 or 3 a week lately. No big banner weeks for a while. We still have some kittens available, 8 to be exact. One adorable little black and white tuxie who was born blind. Her name is Anna, and you would not believe how sweet she is! My IT friend got a promotion and he has been transferred back to San Antonio as of the 5th of this month. He and his beautiful cat are doing well, thanks for asking! Can you resend me your new emayo addy, please? I think I still have your old one because I sent you a Jacquie Lawson birthday card and I never got a delivery confirmation :-) Oops! Glad to hear you and Bryan are going to volunteer with the Spay and Neuter clinic. We work with a low cost spay and neuter group here and give TNR training classes monthly too. I don't get involved with that aspect of our outreach though. Just take care of the kitties in the adoption center. Had another episode with the termites in the same spot!! Exterminator is not charging me for the treatment or the repairs, thank ceiling cat! This time he had to move a cabinet and remove some drywall in addition to the door molding. He's coming back again today to make sure they are all gone, then we will do the repairs - again!! GRRRR! Sorry to hear you're having back problems - do you have a lot of side effects from the cortisone treatments? My mom used to take cortisone when her MS flared up, and the side effects for her were very uncomfortable.

Mornin' Not touched base for awhile. How did the 1/2 marathon go? How go the adoptions - still ahve any kittens? Kiten season should be slowing down. We are ready to start volunteering again and met with the volunteer coordinator for Bend SPay and Neuter last Thus. They do very low cost S&N and vaccinatons and the only organition in town that does TNR. I have a back issue right now so will have to ait until I get some teroid shots on the 13th Wil lbe very different as all the surgeris are dame day and the kities wil b ptry gorggy so not as much hands on kitty cuddling. But S&N and TNR are something we both fervently believe in. I;ll be lernig how to use an autoclave as allinstruments neeed to be sterilized after each surgery and untains of luandry I guess (I;m good at that) LOL We'll see how it goes as to what else we can be helpful with. Bryan's maintenane mech talents will be put to use. How have you been - any out-of-town visitors or trips anywhere? How is your IT friend doing with his kitty. Hugz

Good morning, Syl. Hope all is well with you and yours. Had an excellent week at the adoption center last week - we had 13 adoptions!! That's very good for us; still have a full house - 15 kittens and three adults. Do you have any plans for the holiday weekend?

Thanks for the congrats! Busy x 4 here too. After two back to back long road trips we are glad to be back home. Have a 4 day one coming up end of Aug. Then a dear friend from WA visitng for 5 days. So many fires around here and so dry they have banned all open brning of any kind, even in approved camp site fire rings. They;re trying to get through the rest of this very bad fire season.

Thanks so much for all the congrats! The number of adoptions is wonderful. Kittens present so well for adoptions - so hard to resist them. Didn't know you were doing a half marathon! Is this for a cause of some kind and when is it? What kind of training are you doing? You go girl! Leaving again Wed but that is the last long trip of the summer.

Ed'ed BD and I see your back for a few days. Sounds like your trip was great fun. Back from my shift at the adoption center this morning, and we had TEN adoptions last week!!! That is fantastic for us; mostly kittens, but two adults also. Two empty cubbies this morning, but I am sure they will be filled by next week. Started training for the half marathon. So far, so good, although the early training is very easy peasy.... it gets harder starting with week 5....

Wow, that's great. 8 more into a forever home! Yeah, it is kitten season right now eerywhere and I hope they all find hoes So hard to resist their kyootness. We are doing great. Heading out on a road trip tomorrow am with the RV down to the Trinity Shasta area to camp with some of Bryans HS buds. then home for 3 days and off on another RV trip with son ad gkid to a 4 day reggae festival in Cali and then up and over the Oregon Coast. The kids are so looking forwar to surfing, boogie boarding and beach time. I may have to ust off my wet suit and try some boogie boarding again. Bryan promised he would pick me up off the sand when I crah and burn LOL No I have not, they may be in Engla or Italy or somewhere. I;ll ait until fall to see if I can hoook up with her by email or phone. Want to hae a goo dlong natter with you too after these trips. After those e just have some short trips andhopeflly a very dear friend rom WA visiting us in Sep. Is your house all squared away now.

Hi Syl, JBack from my shift at the adoption center this morning. We had eight, yes eight adoptions last week!! That is great for us. Even with that, all the cubbies were full again this morning when I arrived. We have some adorable kitten siblings right now; if I could I would take four of them home with me right now. How are you and yours doing? Have you heard anything from Betsy lately?

Thanks! How are adoptions going? We helped a coupleof times at Petsmart and it was so wonderful when cat and adopter made a math. Our next volunteer eperience may be at a Low cost spay and neuter cllinc and they are heavily into TNR which I am a great believer in. They hae asked us to volunteer (they know of our experiene one of their vets also tried to help and were also rejected

Happy Caturday. Goo dto be back. She and John may be on a summer trip -maybe to Englan or Italy. They are stepping down from daily management of ICHC, but retaining ownership They have been at this since 2008 24/7 and are ready for some downtime. I do not think there will be any drastic changes and we can kep on playing and having fun here :) I solved the silver problem by packing it all away LOL I got a lot from my Mom but hardly ever use it. I wrap it in plastic bags and it does not tarnish. Just opened the last jar of yummy salsa you sent. I reasure i and have mae the three jars last as long as I could :) Hanging out at home. Having nephew over for dinner tonight. It ws his birthday Thursday. We'll be home for another 1 1/2 weeks and then taking RV down to rinity to meet up with a group of bryan;s HS buds who camp here for a week every year.

Good morning, Syl. How are you and yours? Great to see you back again. I haven't talked to Betsy in a while. I mailed her a birthday card, but never heard from her. Hope everything is OK. What's this I see about Ben and Emily leaving? I must have missed something because I had no idea. What happened? Chore day today - polishing all the silver on display in the dining room (a messy tedious chore I have been puting off, but can't wait any longer as most of it is black with tarnish, *sigh*). Also making up a couple of dry rubs for the pantry that I have used up. And hopping on the treadmill and watching my cooking shows, of course. Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Love the Caturday Kampowt LOL!

Hy, trying to catch up with friends a little more each day. How is every little thing? Any summer trips planned? Feels so good to get back here. But I see Betsy has disappeared for awhile again. Have you been in touch with her at all. I need to send her an email. The usual stuff with the gkids for the summer - camping, some road trips, etc. Oldest gson graduated HS this year and is egistered for community college. Been doing some yard studd - had an irrigaton system put in finally so Bryan doesn't have to shift a bunch of sprinklers around and put in a lawn in the back area that was weeds and dust, Very hot summer here so far. xxoo

Otherwise RL has gotten a good hold on me lately and between that, bad head and chest cold and infected ktteh bite, running around in circles LOL I think you must be pretty busy also as I have not seen you on much or chatting much
