I would *love* you to ask your vet...mine has just given me samples of the Hills kidney diet food, and he says yeah, right...I'm not eating *that* stuff! And I always give my kitties some whitefish lightly cooked as a treat every few days with their regular food. I feel my dog Jess an all raw meat and bone diet with a small amount of ground up veggies, and she is thriving on it. I tried to get the cats to eat the raw diet for cats, but no luck. So yes, I would love it if your vet would tell you what to give him...although we are not going to put him though any drastic treatments, as I think his quality of life at then end is more important than prolonging it with him not feeling his best. Thanks!

Awww, thanks...I never miss a chance to kiss my little man for anyone! I don't mind at all, though it would be faster to tell you what isn't wrong with me! *snerk* Started out with chronic neuropathic pain in my left shoulder in the early 80's, and it just keeps getting worse. Depression is the big problem, can't seem to keep stable on anything any more. Then there is anxiety and social phobia...I am not completely housebound or anything, but if I didn't have to go out I probably wouldn't. A lot of digestive problems, and all these have been made worse since I lost my dog Bobby in 2007 and then one by one four of our cats since then. I don't handle grief well at all. I am lucky that I am in the UK, as if I had stayed in the US I would probably not have health coverage since I was getting divorced and was not employed back in 1995. Now I have probalems because I am WAY overweight, knee hurts when I walk, back, hip, etc. Painkillers barely touch the pain anymore. Grrrr.

No thanks needed...I know that I beat myself up over things the same way, and it only serves to make me feel worse, so I am trying to break the habit. It really is a shock when someone you "knew" just isn't there any more. My best friend ever in real life died last April 15th, and was ill for a month before I even knew she was in the hospital. She had been in and out of hospitals often due to her bi-polor disorder, but I felt that I should have known there was something more wrong not having heard from her for a couple of months. OMG, I just realised that today would be her 62nd birthday. But she would not have wanted me to feel bad about not knowing right away, there was no way I could...you are a kind person to care so much!

Please don't beat yourself up. You have had large amounts of time where you couldn't be online, right? When your meds stop working? With me, when things stop working the way they should, time just somehow gets away from me and before I know it I have missed six months...not literally, but not really being aware of what is going on around me because I don't want to know. This is just a part of who we are. Yes, sometimes I feel really crappy about who I am, but deep down I know I do the best I can with what I 've got, and that's all any of us can do. Do you know how she died? Please don't take this out on yourself. If she was as nice as you say, she wouldn't want you to...((((hugs))))
