OOOh, Felaine! You are so welcome! Although, now that I hear you are going to make a taco casserole or some chicken, you might have to share... Sounds so delishus! It's heartbreaking to hear that you still don't haz Pumpkin-cat. You've been waiting so long. I am praying for you to be reunited quickly, and the girl in charge of his return to feel better and return with him safely. I know what you mean about not being able to tear myself away from cheezland; I just took a 3 hour nap here in front of the computer because I couldn't tear myself away soon enough to get to the bed! I'm pretty sure BBJ tried to wake me, but gave up! *snort* It's difficult to wake a narcoleptic! Hope you have had a wonderful Caturday Eve! *snorgles* ~Pix

O, fangkew fur teh cheeez! Ai fink ai gonna mayk a taco casserole wif awl teh goodies. Ai still doan hab mai Pumpkin-cat. The girl who took him up to Grass Valley (and is going to bring him back) has a dreadful case of teh floo...can barely talk, let alone drive. I am in no shape to drive up there (and back) myself, so I can only wish her well, wait patiently, and cook. Srsly. I think I'm going to make Chicken Thighs with Red & Yellow Bell Peppers in Balsamic Vinagrette sauce today. IF I can tear myself away from the computer. Heh. How are you-all doing?

Fabulous Felaine, there are so many ways to help the people here. If you wanted to make a monetary donation, I would recommend the Salvation Army. They, IMO, do some of the greatest work here in times of disaster and emergency. The Red Cross and United Way are also doing great things here. If none of those appeal to you, here is a list of agencies making big things happen: http://alabamapossible.org/2011/04/tornado-relief-how-you-can-help/. Other ways to get involved are Tide Loads of Hope (buy the special bottle, donate through their site, recommend our towns, etc.), Soles for Souls (gives shoes to disaster victims), or even send a love note (which I only found today and think is waaaay cool!) http://forsakengeneration.com/helpforalabama/notesoflove/ RE: Pumpkin, I really hate that it will be so long still before you can get Pumpkin. I am glad, though, that you both are safe and not taking the risks of driving such perilous roads in bad weather. *hugs and love* ~Pix

Fangkew 4 teh chawklit; I handed it over to teh Cheezfren (that I just figgered out is a "she," nawt a "he" Duh on me!) who Gifted me the PhotoBomb. I think one trade is enuf for now. I am just now learning about what happened to your family, and it's SO terrible that I'm having a difficult time trying to grasp the enormity of it all. I want so much to help, but I have no idea what I can do except send what little I can afford to some disaster relief org. (I'm not much of a one for praying ... sorry...just the way I am.) Just stay close to the survivors, and mourn together as much as you need to. Let it all out. "Shared pain is lessened, and shared joy is increased." I learned that a long time ago, and I know it's true. About Pumpkin: the latest is that the weather between here and where he is will be pretty nasty for the next week or so, and some of the roads up there (Sierra foothills) can get fairly hazardous. I don't want C. taking any chances with herself or the cats, so we're just going to keep an eye on the forecasts, and wait for the best chance. I know the kittehs are safe and well cared-for where they are; I'd just rather they were here. I need them! Yanno? Thanks, again, and know that I am thinking of you and BBJ alla tiem. You two have been so good to me!Take some time out to take care of yourselves, too! Do something silly. Srsly. Laughter and hugs release endophins into teh brayne, and that helps a lot. Might even relieve some of the pain in his shoulder...YNK (You Never Know) {{{{Pixie & BBJ & Family}}}} Love (I really MEAN that!), Felaine

Happy Iscweem Sundae, Felaine! So sorry to hear about Pumpkin and his friend. I'm sure he's just as excited to come home to you as you are to get him! If there's anything I can do from here to help, just let me know! I will send you some of my valentine 'lectibles shortly. If you need any others, let me know! Have a good week ahead! *snorgles*~Pix

Happy Sundog, Ms. Pixie! Still no word regarding when I'm going to be getting my kittehs. *sigh* C. (the driver) suddenly got a lot of calls to work various shows...she's a member of the stagehands union, and she desperately needs the money. But I'm still thinking of other ways to get my own-self up there, cather up Pumpkin and Miss Kitty, and scamper back home. In the meantime, I have a new Cheezfren who needs LOT of the "retired" collectibles, and I wondered if you could donate any ONE from the Valentine's Day or Do NOT Want set to the cause...Please? I already gave away all my extras from those sets, and he just gave me a PhotoBomb. I'd like to return the favor, with your help. 'Preciate it muchly. KTHXBAI Felaine

I just sent this to BBJ, and I wanted to share it with you, too. Breathtaking! MY kinda eye-candy (after kitteh pics, anyway) http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap110511.html

By exhoicat on May 10, 2011 at 4:36 PM

PS: I forgot to say that it was a GOOD thought...I just know very few people outside of the SF Valley anymore (that happens when you gits owld), and the "person" who is supposed to pick him up is the daughter of the owner of the place where he's staying, and want's to see her mom, anyway. I have to call her to see what's going on. Or not going on. Grrrr.

By exhoicat on May 9, 2011 at 5:44 PM

I LUVZ chai with whipped cream! I usually make it at home so that I can put Splenda in the cream...maybe I could take lessons from a pro barrista. (Then I wouldn't want to drink the tea and mess up the art. As I told BBJ, I'm weird, and I enjoy it!)

By highlands_pixie on May 8, 2011 at 5:41 PM

Well, it was just a thought, as I have a friend in Sacramento who I might could sweet talk into participating. The good thing is that Pumpkin is safe and happy right now, and will be home soon! (just not soon enough!) Glad you like my lollie, I would think that barristas could do the same with tea, if you take cream in it. After all, it's all about the stiffness of the cream to make the art! :)

By exhoicat on May 8, 2011 at 5:24 PM

Good idea, but the only person I know who lives between here and Grass Valley is unable to drive AT ALL, for medical reasons. I'm just trying to be patient, and keeping in touch with "the person." I know Pumpkin is being taken care of in a very good place, it just isn't "here." Yanno? BTW, your Cat-puccino looks yummy, and I don't even like coffee! (Can barristas do the same things with tea, ya think?)

By highlands_pixie on May 7, 2011 at 10:20 PM

BBJ and I were brainstorming regarding Pumpkin and the trip, and had an idea. Are there any friends that could be called on between you and Pumpkin who would participate in a "rescue relay"? If you could enlist several people who were each willing to drive a leg of the journey, no one person would have to drive the whole trip AND it would only have to be made one way! Perhaps you could get Pumpkin sooner that way! *snorgles* ~PixiePie

By exhoicat on Apr 24, 2011 at 4:44 PM

Awwww. Dat's sew kyooot! I didn't make inny Eostre LOLz cuz ai wuz bizzy werkin awn The Pet Press stuff. And I'm trying to pull the house together for Pumpkin's arrival...I put all of our "cat furniture" and dishes and things away when Tazzy died last year...and, of course I don't remember where I put all of it. Gotta get fresh fud, too. Gonna get the little sweetheart the very best. He's 10 years old now, so I guess that makes him a Sr. Cat-izen. Like me. Felaine

By highlands_pixie on Apr 24, 2011 at 9:44 AM

Hoppy Easter my friend! http://cheezburger.com/View/4688848384 Pumpkin's return is growing near! :) Sew happy fur yoo!

By exhoicat on Apr 15, 2011 at 12:45 AM

PS: I'm becoming a little worried about getting Pumpkin back down here. I've sent e-mails to the woman who's supposed to go up to Northern CA to pick him up, and have offered her a hefty amount of cash (that I really can't afford) for gasoline...and so far no answers. I need to get some new "cat furniture" for him, but I don't want to do that till I'm positive that I'm actually going to get him. Whatta predicament!

You can buy a "Like New" copy for as little as $ 0.75 at http://product.half.ebay.com/Fat-Girls-and-Lawn-Chairs-by-Cheryl-Peck-2004-Paperback/2487972&tg=info#moredetails Description: Essays and poems by a gay woman who refuses to see her weight as a problem, and who finds humor in most situations, including playing softball and being closely observed by her cat. You don't have to be gay to enjoy her attitude. Just human. I think she has a newer book out now, and I probably will buy it...when I get my Social InSecurity depost. I just ordered ink and paper ... *gasp!* D'you remember when computer companies were bragging about the advent ot "The Paperless Office"? Hah! I'm retired, and I use more paper now than I did when I was doing manual bookkeeping. I'm just now getting into digital photography...a friend sent me a used Canon last month, and I'm going bananas with it. The photos don't look as good (richly colored) on paper as they do on the screen, but I think there are ways to fix that. I may sign up for a class at the local Adult School. At my age! Yikes!

By highlands_pixie on Apr 15, 2011 at 12:11 AM

Oh boy! I never knew where my avi came from... I have been searching high and low to try and find out, so thank you! I might even have to go pick up that book soon... you can never have too many books in my opinion... :)

By exhoicat on Apr 14, 2011 at 10:18 PM

An' Ai dew teh Happy Dans wen Ai kin mayk a fren happy. ;>) PS: Ai LOL'd at ur Avatar. Ai hab teh book dat it caym frum "Fat Girls and Lawn Chairs." Collection of short stories an' personal essays by Cheryl Peck...some funny, some very touching. And the cat in the purple wig (not the hat) is on the cover. I have to confess that I'm addicted to books, and they are crowding me out of the house. I can't let go of any of them...even the ones I don't like very much. Am I Hoarding?Sick? O, well. I don't think I'm harming anyone else with my addiction, not even trees; I buy used books from eBay's Half.com. I consider that a form of recycling...heh.
