hehehe it is a line in the SAND a good breeze and it is somewhere else! $:D

By jaspatrick on Mar 9, 2012 at 6:47 AM

Yeah, the line was drawn, erased, redrawn and now is just kind of a fact of life, ya know? It's a weird situation; but we've grown accustomed to it.

By hmph on Mar 8, 2012 at 5:31 PM

(Thank you!) *blush!*

By hmph on Mar 8, 2012 at 5:27 PM

$:) Excellent! $:D I guess you guys are just gonna have to draw a line in the sand where the 'manager/artist business' doesn't cross into the 'Spouse Zone'.

By jaspatrick on Mar 8, 2012 at 4:58 PM

Oh, my lady gets as much attention as she'll let me pay to her, trust me. Unfortunately, she's my manager as well as my good lady wife--therefore, the shit gets busy and we end up discussing business far more than just fun. It is what it is and we strive so it can be different. That's why it means so much for someone like yourself to listen and spread the word; so, again, can't thank you enough! salute!

By hmph on Mar 8, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Ah, that explains it. I have never had HBO. I don't do netflix either... I can't afford to pay for my tv. Hmm... I haven't heard of 'Survivors'. I will have to do some searching (The 'Survivor' reality series will make it a bit tricky.) I dig. Only a minute? $:D It isn't boring to who counts if you spend what time you have paying attention to your girl. $:D

By jaspatrick on Mar 8, 2012 at 7:09 AM

Those are both old HBO shows--both finished now. I don't have it either, I just get them through netflix when they're out. We just watched a BBC (a bit older) called Survivors--that wasn't bad. We mainly do the netflix thing; but because we work so much on the albums/shows/releases/etc we're usually pretty brain dead and it's more of a "night off" kind of thing, ya dig? It's been a minute since I've been a real follower of anything other than our music business. I guess that means I'm boring.

$:) The YEEEEAAAAHHHH meme ( the one with the Horatio Cane putting on - and taking off- his sunglasses) is from the CSI:Miami spinoff. I like all of the CSI series' (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York). But I dig a good mystery, so I also like Law & Order, The Mentalist, Hawaii 50, Person of Interest, the BBC Masterpiece Mysteries on PBS (Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple) too. But I have recently been enamored with the Masterpiece Classic (BBC stuff, Downton Abbey, any of the Jane Austins, I just recorded Oliver the other night- I haven't had a chance to watch that one yet). I don't know 'Rome' or 'Deadwood' are they cable? I don't have cable.

By jaspatrick on Mar 7, 2012 at 4:58 PM

Oh, I've heard of CSI and I know the YEEEAAAAHHHH meme and all that; but I don't watch cop dramas, no. I like the premium period dramas, though--Rome, Deadwood, etc. Bars, clubs, smaller theaters, that sort of thing. Just depends on how many folks want to come out and see me--that will determine venue size.

By hmph on Mar 7, 2012 at 10:25 AM

AH, where would you think your audience might be? Coffee house? Road house? Bar? Dance club? Hm.. Can I presume you know what it is? (a police procedural drama that focuses on the crime scene investigators and their process)?

By jaspatrick on Mar 7, 2012 at 7:59 AM

Right on, glad you liked it! As far as clubs go--just whatever they can book that's a good fit, ya know? I honestly never watch TV, so I've never seen CSI

By hmph on Mar 6, 2012 at 12:36 PM

HEHEHE! COngrats on your history Vanity lol!! History lols are like CSI! You can show any body part on CSI as long as it is done scientifically! And you can show any body part on History... as long as it is a classical painting or drawing.

By hmph on Mar 5, 2012 at 2:33 PM

Ah, Regionally is a good start. $:D What sort of clubs are you going for?

By jaspatrick on Mar 5, 2012 at 11:23 AM

We'll be doing weekend shows regionally for awhile--have to build up the base a bit and make sure we can pull a decent enough crowd out of town at the different clubs, ya know? Takes awhile to get the word out.

By hmph on Mar 4, 2012 at 6:27 AM

Re-reading your info up there... where are you touring abouts?

By hmph on Mar 4, 2012 at 6:26 AM

WOOT!COngrats on your Pantene Pro-Viper FP!! $:D

By hmph on Feb 5, 2012 at 2:51 PM

Ah, that long, eh? Well, I guess it's gonna sneak in there. I knew several people from when I was going to University who were considering moving to Nashville because 'that is where all the music is being made' (from what I understand it was because it's cheaper than California). I thought you might be one of that ilk. But it sounds like you are practically a native. I was ed'ing JeffMurdock's comments and realized that I had forgot to mention how impressed *I* was with your doing all those different instruments. Truly IMPRESSIVE! I just beat on things...basically your miscellaneous Perc. stuff. I have tried to teach myself a little flute and a touch of guitar, not very successful at it... but I am told I make a very nice tone on the flute. Have you considered an instrumental album? $;D MORE DRUMS! MORE TIMBALE! MORE SITAR! MORE BONGO! And FINGER CYMBALS! WOOT! $;) (my two cents) But then again I am a perc person who liked Norwegian Wood. $:D Listening on the Jas Patrick site: Totally dig the "call it home" intro... ok the whole perc/bass line and the solo at 2:28 and the outro. Donatist!! The Sitar intro! The banjo double is growing on me... at least it wasn't twanged (shudder). Is that a violin between 3:10 and 3:26 ( $:D )? You know, I think I actually really prefer your detail finger work verses your chord strums.

By jaspatrick on Feb 5, 2012 at 1:16 PM

Oh believe me, I LOVE Brit-rock-pop-60's and so forth! I've lived in Nashville since my young life so I'm sure every now and again it is inevitable. It's all good though and NO! I absolutely take no offense whatsoever!!! I appreciate you listening and having something to say about it--I find it fascinating and truly am thankful you took the time; thanks for that! I try to explore as many genre's and styles as I can so I can assure you that I'll meander towards something less country sooner or later! wink I'm just having a blast talking "shop" with ya so keep listening! If you find a track you dig, tell a friend. They're all up on YouTube under my name (jas patrick) and I have at least 23 unique tracks covering two albums up--something for everyone and all that.

By hmph on Feb 5, 2012 at 12:56 PM

$:) I am SO glad I have not offended. I don't wish to offend. Hate to say it, though, but I think 'Nashville' creeps into your singing voice sometimes (you didn't talk enough in the video for me to detect it in your speaking voice). $:? Have you considered London...uh... Liverpool... or just someplace north of the Mason/Dixon Line? What can I say, I am less than an hour from MoTown. $:)

By jaspatrick on Feb 5, 2012 at 12:22 PM

Lol! (that's good, I never "lol" so well done!) You know, I get called "country" from time to time and I have to say, it always surprises me... But, it is what it is, and I completely understand. I'm not a huge country fan, either. I would definitely agree on the first album there are certainly some tunes that are more country; but I honestly didn't think the new album had any. Hit me up with some song titles so I know of which ones you speak and I'll make sure to never play them! wink Seriously though, can't thank you enough for listening and it's always a blast to talk some tune-age with my cheese-homies! Hope your weekend treated you well! Cheers!

By hmph on Feb 5, 2012 at 8:32 AM

Indeed! I was having trouble classifying it myself. I completely dug the percussion/latin/sitar stuff. I was alright with the jazz and the rock. The banjo... not so much. I did detect a hint of 'country' which made me cringe though. Country-western always makes me cringe. *shudder* SOrry, but it does.

By jaspatrick on Feb 5, 2012 at 8:05 AM

You know, I get asked that a lot and my manager & partner (and wife) talk about how to classify my music all the time... We really can never settle on anything. I always tend to think of it as rock/r&b or rock/soul but since there's jazz, bluesrock, blues, folk, world, Latin and so on and so forth--we can never really ever come to an agreement. Sorry, I know that's a long "answer" that doesn't really answer anything!

By hmph on Feb 4, 2012 at 3:42 PM

$:) You're welcome! (That was from our Christmas concert (me on the sleigh bells).) So, how would you classify your music? Heheee! OF COURSE she is a Meee-aoist! heee

By jaspatrick on Feb 4, 2012 at 3:05 PM

Hey, that's cool! Thanks so much for watching and yep, little Miss Phoebe is a mad communist. Check my "my stuff" and then videos and you'll see here proclaiming her love for the communist party. Thanks for watching!

By hmph on Feb 3, 2012 at 4:48 PM

You are welcome! $:) SO, I watched the entire 'making of tributaries'. Pheobe is awesome! $:) She's a communist? Well, I suppose most-if not all-cats are and they are the Czars/Czarinas. $:D Mhmm...yep! Oh, the music?! Oh... Love the sitar, and the Beatles reference "I've got blisters on mah fingars!" heheee! Timbales YES! Bongos! INDEED! Sleighbells, OF COURSE! Need a ringer? heeee $:D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_IiLw26PFA&feature=related). SNerk! Looks like you had a lot of fun making it,

By jaspatrick on Feb 3, 2012 at 12:25 PM
