JerryGarcia is 18 (will turn 19 yrs in November). 2 years ago he had a seizure and was diagnosed with cancer of the brain stem. He's had about 5 seizures since then but always seems to bounce back from them until this last one a few weeks ago which left him blind, but he's actually doing okay. We of course did not put him through chemo and radiation (what cruel thing to do to an aging animal even if we had that kind of $). We are hoping he will die at home. He's not in any obvious pain (his vets agree with me), but if and when he is, we'll take him into the hospital and they will put him down. I'm just praying that doesn't have to happen. When he went blind it was after a seizure he had in his sleep and for a few days he couldn't walk nd would just yowl contstantly so we almost put him down, but then he snapped out of it nd seems to get around okay now (east, drinks, uses litter box). He can't and won't climb up on anything because he can't see, so that limits his world a lot and he's always been a very vertical cat as Jackson Galaxy would say...but not any more. So we just treasure every moment we have with him and we spoil the hell out of him. Lolly is out other cat, another rescue) and she is about 8 yrs old and acts like a nurse for him. It's very touching to see. So now you know.
