Ohai Kittydoc! Couldn't let the day go by without wishing you a super Happy Thanksgiving filled with lots of great food and even greater company! Hope all is well with you and the weather is behaving itself down there :)

Ohai Kittydoc! Just so you know, they just came out with a third set today. You can only get them by visiting two pages on this site: http://yar.is/entries/

Hehe ^.^ No worries about missing the post, somehow it's fairly easy to do for me too. The rule of thumb seems to be around 1 tbsp for every 40lbs. I've been giving Jade a little over that since she tends to hover right around 50 lbs. Hope it works for your big bear ^.^

By kittydoc on Sep 14, 2011 at 8:57 AM

Hi SW--I missed your post about the molasses somehow, but wow....I'm fascinated. My big bear dog has a nice collection of fatty tumors. On one level, I know they are nothing to worry about, on another they irk me. How much have you been giving Jade again? Shoot, I may try it for myself as well--see if does anything for my spare tire. :)

Just got an e-meow from the overlords, they say they found and fixed the problem and asked me to let them know if I have any more issues. Hopefully it works now *fingers crossed*

I just remembered I wanted to update you on the blackstrap molasses... I was giving it to Jade regularly and she still hadn't shown any sign of pain. Her fatty tumor on her chest was actually shrinking, still there but noticeably smaller. I got off track for about a week (don't know where my mind was, but it was right around the time my brother was moving into college and my fiance was clearing out his apartment), and her fatty tumor went right back to its regular size. Started giving it to her again and it's shrunken again. Either that's one heck of a coincidence or it's a doggone miracle 'supplement'. In any light I'm sold on it. Between that and her 'mature dog' food with glucosamine I feel good about keeping her as limber as possible.

Haha... I'm just plain crazy and found the only solution I could, but thank you for the compliment ^.^ I couldn't agree more, it's more effort but since I use my system to help other's out it makes the extra effort worth it. I agree, there will be no more turkey/karot famines! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too, and I'm so glad the 'system' works :D

By kittydoc on Sep 1, 2011 at 10:09 AM

Hey SW--you did it you crafty genius. The paralleling thing totally worked. MORE effort for something that should be mindless fun, but at least now I can help my friends . As CC is my witness there will never be a turkey/carrot famine again!! <shakes paw at powers that be> :D Have a great Long Lazy weekend!

By SilentWing on Jul 27, 2011 at 11:22 AM

The blackstrap actually seems to be making Jade move around more. I wonder now if she wasn't lazy so much as a little sore and didn't show it. She actually doesn't like the flavor, so I use a baby syringe I got at WallMart since she's good about taking medicine in general. Rain however loves the stuff. I put about 1/8 of a teaspoon in a little dish and she just dives right in. If you're interested, this is the website my brother's fiance uses ever since their one Jack Russel started having bad allergies: http://www.earthclinic.com/pets.html#a

Thanks! Let me know what you think of the blackstrap molasses. I'm curious how it will work for you. I'm sure Jade thinks it's pretty darn yummy!

Ohai Kittydoc! No worries Jade made the trip ok (suprised me!). I sent over the doughnut kitty for your friend ^.^ No worries on sending anything back, just happy to help my friends (and their friends) out when I can! Let me know if you need any of the newer ones, if I don't have them my friends might :)

By kittydoc on Jul 26, 2011 at 7:31 PM

Hey SW, sorry I was slow on the post button. Hopefully your pup wasn't too sick on the trip. I was wondering if you could spare a doughnut kitty for my frend Purr? I will send you something good ASAP. Thanks! Hope you are snapping fingers at life. :)

By SilentWing on Jul 24, 2011 at 1:34 PM

Ohai kittydoc! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try that out next time (didn't get a chance to check back before we went so I missed it this time). I love hearing the different remidies that people know about pets. My brother's fiance knows a lot about homeopathic treatments, and so we just started Jade on Black Strap Molasses to help her joints since she's getting older. We also have her on food with Glucosomine now. Thanks again and I hope you're having a great weekend!

By kittydoc on Jul 23, 2011 at 10:50 AM

Hey SW, just glanced by and saw about Jade. Give her 1/2 tsp of ginger in a meatball before you go. Helps a lot with the yucks.

By SilentWing on Jul 11, 2011 at 5:41 AM

Ohai Kittydoc ^.^ I was glad to be able to send that one along to you when I saw you didn't have it. My summer has actually been really busy this year, which is nice considering last year my littlest one had two seperate knee surgeries for her luxating patellas so I spent almost all summer indoors watching her. No va/stay-cations planned, unless you count visits to my older brother's house and my fiance's dad's house (30 and 90 minute drives respectively). But we have been getting outside as much as possible, especially when the weather is nice :) How about you? Hope your summer has been going great ^.^ *hugz* thanks for the note too, it's great to hear from you.

By kittydoc on Jul 10, 2011 at 8:45 PM

Tank you tank you for dah froggy!! I was thinking I was never going to get him! How goes your summer? Any stay-cations or real cations on the horizon? :)

Just wanted to wish you a lovely weekend *hugz*

Aww thanks so much kittydoc :) He knows he's in for a long trek, let alone the residency when he graduates. We've had some strange weather here, it's gone from close to 90 degrees for 2-3 days in a row then it'll drop down to the 70's for a couple days then shoot back up. I'm with you on the air conditioning, I don't mind sweating when I'm exercising but any other time I can't stand it. Thanks so much for reminding me about Hachi, I've wanted to see that movie but for some reason forgot about it. I hope the weather cools down for you, and thanks for the great message *hugz*

By kittydoc on Jun 2, 2011 at 5:33 PM

Congrats to your brother!! That's really wonderful. Hopefully you both can take some time and enjoy his last summer before the BIG SLOG. My sympathy on your continuous mowing. Here, apparently we jumped right into August cause it's already pushing 100. I'm a total wimp and sprint from one air conditioned hole to another. :) I watched Hachi--A Dog's Tale yesterday. SUCH A GOOD MOVIE! I wanted to be sure to tell you and AOCH about it because our dogs mean so much to us. Anyway--if you can make time you should get it. Don't work too hard!

By SilentWing on May 24, 2011 at 5:54 AM

Glad to hear all is well there, but sorry to hear about the poison ivy :( This year the grass is growing like crazy, mow it one day and it's back up in 3 more. Things here are great, my younger brother graduated his first 4 years and will be going to med school in the fall (and will be about 100+ miles closer to home than he was before). This summer he's just taking it easy, because he knows how busy he's going to get. No real plans for Memorial Day outside of some good BBQ and some much needed relaxation for my overtaxed fiance :) Hope you have a lovely weekend yourself ^.^

By kittydoc on May 23, 2011 at 8:06 PM

Things are good here--been fighting the lawn and the poison ivy definitely scored a few points. :( It'll all be worth it though. How are things with you? Got any plans for Memorial Day?

By SilentWing on May 20, 2011 at 6:06 AM

Hi Kittydoc! Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I hope you have a great weekend. Haven't chatted in a while, and I hope everything is great on your end and the weather is beautiful.

By SilentWing on May 7, 2011 at 6:10 AM

Hey Kittydoc! I hope all is well on your end :) Sorry I haven't kept in touch more... I hope you have a lovely weekend ^.^

By SilentWing on Apr 22, 2011 at 5:41 AM

Aww what a kyoot nickname for your pom ^.^ Poor Spiff, he'd be so confused. Though I suppose it would be a bad situation lol "Spiff come look at the pom poms!" -pom pom comes running up- "uh oh..." hehe. I hope you have a wonderful weekend kittydoc, and a turly lubly Easter too <3

By kittydoc on Apr 22, 2011 at 2:02 AM

Good morning SW. Your suggestion cracked me up. My pom's nickname is "Pom Pom" and my Destructor kitteh HATES him. Tying a couple of "Pom Poms" to the walker would probably send Spiff to any unguarded jugular! And I got a crystal clear mental image of the horror! :D

By SilentWing on Apr 20, 2011 at 10:53 AM

But she can get away with it cause she's cute I'm sure ^.^ Poor Grandma though, perhaps if she got a walker with some strings of pom poms hanging from it kitty would be more accepting lol <3 My friend had a cat who used to nibble on the grass alot, he was so funny when he did it because he only used his tiny teeth between his canines to eat it.

By kittydoc on Apr 20, 2011 at 8:36 AM

Thanks! I have a kitty that can be very effective, but not when I want. ("You didn't want me to attack Grandma? But she has a dangerous cane!) If I tried to deploy her--I'm sure it would be time to nibble the grasses.

By SilentWing on Apr 20, 2011 at 7:10 AM

Ohai Kittydoc, Congradulations on a very funny FP ^.^ I think I need a kitty like that, would be good for security too. Stranger on your front lawn? Roger that... deploy the kitty :)
