Thanks! Veggie Black Bean Burgers * 1 (16 ounce) can black beans * 1/2 green bell pepper--chopped fine * 1/2 yellow onion--chopped fine * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 2 eggs * 1 tablespoon chili powder * 1 tablespoon cumin * 1 tablespoon dried cilantro * 1 teaspoon hot sauce * 1cup bread crumbs or crushed wheat crackers * salt and pepper to taste 1) Drain and rinse beans and allow to dry as much as possible while preparing the rest 2) Pre-heat oven to 375, lightly oil cookie sheet 3) Beat eggs well, add chili powder, cumin, cilantro and hot sauce, salt and pepper 3) Fork-mash beans to paste consistency in a medium bowl 4) Add beaten eggs/spices 5) Add bread crumbs until mixture holds together, up to 1 cup 6) Divide and pat into four flat patties 7) Bake 10-12 minutes/side Om nom nom!!! You can use your own cooked black beans or add corn, mushrooms, chipotles, grains whatever you have or want. You can

Hi Tofu, It's nice to get to know some of the folks behind the cheez. I've always thought that Animal people are good people and this site is really knitting a great community of them. And funny. Funny is always good! I like the collectibles too because it's a better reason to say hi and get to know people. Thanks for that. Anyway, I don't have much to offer the cheezcat who has everything, but would you be willing to swap an extra thermometer for a great black bean burger recipe? Just askin.... :)
