Thanks for the LOWL kittydoc! Hope your week is going well. :)

Hi kittydoc! How have you been? We are finally all out of the boxes... just last week we unpacked the last of them. :) I'm so glad we used the driving service. It seemed to help the cats adjust a lot faster- two of the three were relaxed even earlier than the last time we moved across town! You're right about getting dive certified- it really could be a nice break from school and give me another awesome activity to do when I visit my family! Sounds like you enjoy diving a lot- where have you dived and what's your favorite spot? School is going well- so far I've just had "MBA Boot Camp" which is accounting and finance prep for those of us who haven't come from business backgrounds. Orientation starts tomorrow (Monday) and lasts for a week then it's into classes and projects! I'm excited to get started. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

So are you all out of boxes yet or still unpacking? At least the hard part is over. That's great you were able to have a driving service for you kitties. Definitely the best/safest way to go I think. Flying cargo is a scary prospect, especially in the extreme heat. You should DEFINITELY get dive certified especially with family in Hawaii! There is nothing more amazing and beautiful than diving coral reefs. I may be a *little* biased just because I find all animals so interesting but there's just something otherworldly about it. I would think it would be pretty easy to do in Texas, with the Gulf Coast and all. Might be a nice break from all things school. :) How goes school? Are you buried in projects yet? Has it even started? Anyway, glad things are good for you.

Hey kittydoc! Hope you are doing well. Apologies for the delayed reply. We just moved into the new place in Austin last Saturday and our cats arrived last night! (we sent them through a breeder delivery service that has specially outfitted vans.) The move went well- the drive was long but we got here and are just waiting for the last of what we shipped to arrive. The beaches were great- so nice to relax before the big move. I'm not scuba certified yet... keep thinking I should get it since my dad and stepmom live in Hawaii so I go over there about once a year or so. Are you certified? Sorry to hear your big dog was sick! Hope he is feeling better and that you had a great 4th!
By kittydoc on Jul 2, 2011 at 9:31 AM
Hi Chaos, I know you are in the final countdown of your move. All going well? How were the beaches? Do you scuba dive? I too, sniffled through the Up montage (animation for crying out loud) but there was no helping it. My plans for the weekend have veered off, as my big dog was sick this morning. It's officially an indoor/at home weekend til I get him feeling better. Have a great holiday. Be safe on your move if I don't talk to you before then.

Hey kittydoc! We're moving in about a bit over a month now so we're starting to sell/get rid of our furniture and such. I took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill the other week and imagine I'll be doing more of that soon. I only have 2 more weeks left of work!! I'm excited to finish up as I have a couple of vacations to go on between then and moving (a week in HI and a week in FL). Glad to hear you are keeping busy! As much as it can get hard to relax sometimes, busy is definitely good and better than bored! I haven't seen Hachi: A Dog's Tale but I am definitely one who cries at movies so I can relate to you avoiding the grocery store! The montage in Up had me in tears. Hope you are having a great weekend! What are you up to?
By kittydoc on Jun 2, 2011 at 5:52 PM
Hi frend! I'm sorry I haven't been able to talk in ages! Are you in the final countdown for your move? (or are you wing and a prayer-ing it? :) Here is good, still busy (which is good!) but I did enjoy that long weekend. I watched Hachi: A Dog's Tale. It was such a good movie! I cried and cried though. So much that I didn't want to go to the grocery store and have somebody think I was going to a funeral. :) Hope you are doing well!

Hai kittydoc! Thanks for the ladybug! It's so cute!! Hope you have had a good week!
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 21, 2011 at 11:51 AM
The Champagne Bar was definitely fun! I got a flight of 3 different types from around the world, and my fiance got a couple by the glass- plus we both tried their champagne cocktails (we were there for a while plus we ate dinner while tasting). It's cool to be able to compare champagnes like that without paying for entire bottles. :) I did knit this weekend, but the baseball/knitting outing was over the summer. It was great fun! We went to an evening game so it wasn't too hot/sunburn inducing. The key is to take an easy knitting project to an event like that so you can watch the game too. :) I am not behind any of the Hacked IRL knitting capers (aka yarn bombings) but I'd love to someday! I recently found pictures of some yarn bombings in Austin. It will be good to be close to family when we move. Right now my mom is 2 hours away though so I will miss that, plus my dad and stepmom live in Hawaii so it'll be a longer plane ride to see them. Plus as you said, my family will miss having people to see/stay with here in LA! But I am very excited to move - it'll be fun to explore somewhere new. Plus my fiance and I have been looking online at wedding venues in Austin and I can't wait to see some of them in person! Hope your week is calming down as it comes to an end! Happy Thursday. :)
By kittydoc on Apr 20, 2011 at 6:26 PM
A Champagne Bar--that sounds like FUN! Did you get to try several kinds of bubbly? I think I saw you went to a baseball game AND knitted. I salute you. I would surely have a migraine, sunburn and an ugly piece of knitting if I tried that. Sounds like fun though. Are you responsible for any Hacked In Real Life knitting escapades? That's really nice that you have family in Austin--big enough to lead your own lives but small enough to stay close when you want. I'm sure your family is mourning there won't be any handy family to visit in LA anymore though.
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM
Aww sorry to hear you are so busy!! Hope it's a good busy. I had a fun weekend- went to a champagne bar and saw Source Code on Saturday, then got together with my knitting group on Sunday. :) No big plans for Bun Day- just relaxing! How about you? I have been to Austin a couple times- both with the intent on possibly moving there so I was focused on learning the area. Plus my sister and my fiance's sister both live there. My fiance's family is from Dallas too, so not too far. Congrats on making the FP!!! Go kitteh go!
By kittydoc on Apr 19, 2011 at 4:21 PM
No time to relax here sadly--my cheezfrends will suffer some neglect I'm afraid. Did you have a good weekend? Anything special in the hop for Bun Day? It sounds like you already know Austin quite well. Have you been there a lot?
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 15, 2011 at 10:52 AM
Thanks Kittydoc- you always know just what I am missing! I was wondering how I was supposed to keep all these jellybeans and eggs from rolling everywhere!! Happy Friday and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!! Any special plans or just taking some time to relax?
By kittydoc on Apr 15, 2011 at 5:52 AM
You needed a basket for all your goodies.

I really do have trouble with my bluetooth!!! Mostly because the ones I've tried fall out of my ear while in use. I also seem to have trouble keeping them properly charged- mine often dies on me mid-conversation. :P You are right about Austin being a different kind of natural beauty than LA. While I have enjoyed my 7 years here in LA I'm ready for something new and I've fallen in love with Austin! I'm really excited to move into a new realm in my field- the video game industry is a great one to work in for exactly the reasons you named. I've just found that sound editing full-time isn't for me, and that I love project management and being in the business side of the industry so it's time for business school so I can get a jump start in that direction! Your comment about the range & depth of animals' personalities made me smile. That is truly an amazing thing to experience that on a daily basis in your work! :) I'm sure that there must be some hard moments in your field, but when you can heal someone's best friend- that's incredible I'm sure! Do you mostly see cats and dogs in your practice or do you see more of a variety of animals?
By kittydoc on Apr 14, 2011 at 12:38 PM
That is exciting--making the big move for school. I hear great things about Austin too. You'll be get to appreciate a whole other type of natural beauty instead of all that vulgar, flashy coastline. ;) But seriously, everyone tells me how beautiful Texas is and how nice Austin is. I hope you love it. I would think video games would a great field to be in too--lots of staying power and room to grow. And not cut and dry either, working on different games all the time. Being a vet can be great, but most days there are lots of ups and downs which can be difficult. But it never ceases to amaze me the range and depth of animal personalities. That's why I appreciate this site so much, because it shows off just that. Thanks for the tea recommendations, the pomegranate and vanilla chai sounds especially good. And I have to tell you, it's comforting to me that a "software engineer of sorts" has trouble with her bluetooth. (If it's not true--leave me with my delusions ;)

PS Thank you for completing my Technologically Impaired Duck collection with the Blue Tooth! Now I just need to get it working with my cell phone... ;)
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 13, 2011 at 2:57 PM
Hahaaha your Cindy Crawford and Sarah Jessica Parker smileys made me laugh! For Stash I like Vanilla Chai, the regular Green Tea, and that double bergamont Earl Grey you mentioned- so good!! Orange Starfruit sounds tasty. I'll have to look for that one. Trader Joe's has a great Pomegranate White Tea, and a lovely Jasmine Green. :) That's awesome that you used to take Two Buck Chuck home with you before the airlines upped their restrictions! That's good stuff- and so cheap! I'll miss it... my fiance and I are moving to Austin TX in July since I'll be getting my MBA from UT Austin starting in August! I'm really excited. I am a software engineer of a sort-- I do sound for video games. Unfortunately confidentiality agreements and such mean I can't really work from home, but it's a fun field to be in. I work for a contractor so we work on lots of different games for various game companies. I'm looking to use my soon-to-start MBA education to go into marketing for games. :) Being a kittydoc must be pretty fascinating and rewarding-- how did you decide to go into it?
By kittydoc on Apr 13, 2011 at 9:07 AM
Ah, Trader Joe's. I used to stock up on Two Buck Chuck when I would visit my sis in Sacramento. That was in the good ol' days though, before liquids were banned and baggage cost an arm and a leg. I'll have to try the tea next time since you think it's good. What is your favorite? I like double bergamot Earl Grey and lately have drinking A LOT of orange starfruit--yum yum (and I can sleep :). <= Hmm, proper punctuation has created teh Cindy Crawford emoticon. Or maybe Sarah Jessica. :^). You have mentioned you are a software developer yes? Do you work from home?
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 12, 2011 at 5:32 PM
Haha great mantra! I do enjoy Stash tea- it's quite tasty! I also like most of Trader Joe's flavors too (not sure if you have Trader Joe's in Georgia?), and I swear by Traditional Medicinals tea when I'm feeling sick at all. Unfortunately at my work we just have Bigelow, which is fine but not as good as many others. Sometimes I bring my own. :) When it comes to iced tea I'm much less picky and drink most types as long as its unsweetened. What's your favorite flavor of tea Kittydoc?
By kittydoc on Apr 12, 2011 at 7:40 AM
Good morning Chaos. (what a coincidence--that's my morning mantra :) Saw your tea comment and as a fellow teaholic--I wanted to tell you to try Stash tea if you haven't already. I received a gift box from a friend and have been hooked since. Best tea ever.

Hey kittydoc! Seems like everyone around here feels that way about this past weekend-- wonder why it felt particularly short? Cali is good. It's been a bit cool but still nice and sunny! I spent much of my weekend relaxing and eating tasty food with friends. :) Thanks for the dot matrix printer! Those Technologically Impaired Duck collectibles seem to keep evading me- thanks for helping me out!
By kittydoc on Apr 11, 2011 at 6:51 PM
I had a great weekend--short on time, long on things to do, like everyone I'm sure. And I sent you something, but I'm just too darn tired to remember what or come up with something funny to say about it. How's Cali?
By inspiredbychaos on Apr 11, 2011 at 11:18 AM
Haha yeah round tuits are so handy! I wish more people knew about them so I could make some and hand them out. :) How was your weekend kittydoc?
By kittydoc on Apr 11, 2011 at 8:32 AM
I was HOPING I wouldn't have to explain those! (I'm also hoping your mom had you at 13 ;) That's pretty funny they did that though. I would need a massive stockpile!
