This is the hardest thing I've ever done. I've lost a lot of people and a lot of furbabies...only the loss of my Grandma comes close to this. I never ever dreamed I could love a cat so much; I also now understand the warnings I received from Elders about wishing for a familiar: I was told the death of a familiar is much like the death of a child, and I sort of see that now. *sigh* I simply don't understand how anyone can lose a child and keep on breathing themselves. How does one bear that kind of pain? *bigger sigh* Thanks for the kind words and good thoughts and for thinking Morty's kinda special. Do me a favor? *hugshugshugs* Thank you for your good and kind thoughts. Y'know, I think he was holding on just to meet you and the PrismRodent; his back left leg *really* started to fail the day after you went home. He can no longer make the small jump into the litter box, so, just as when he was a tiny kitten too small to climb in, I clean up after him with no blame. This is so hard...but he still has that quiet dignity that we all love so much. *sigh* It helps to know I'm not the only one who thinks there's really something SPESHUL about Morty. I think I broke my jaw when it unhinged and hit the floor!! The gals had been talking about it...even asked my permission to do it...but I was still shocked to my socks when they actually DID it. *falls over* Say, do you want to visit Deadwood? *sigh* Right now a trip is nawt looking so good...because the tax refund took so long to get, by the time it came it ALL went to bills, nothing for savings. If I gets the job I'll be able to plan a short trip on my days off so we will see! There's nawt much out here unless you count Crazy Horse, the Badlands/Wall Drug, Mt. Rushmore, the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, Deadwood... ;o) *wanna give non-virtual hugs too*
