Wow! That's a lotta white stuff! WE live on what the city has deemed "hospital route"; so, we get the street plowed right away. Um-m-m...well, define "right away"/ Seems as the years pass, and city employees come & go, the young 'uns' are apathetic about it all. They used to plow the alleys, but not anymore. So, clearing our 8'x125' driveway of 8" or more feels good, only to join the neighbors in clearing the alley. On a more happier note, we are having a warm weather week, so major melting is taking place. On the way to Lincoln yesterday was like driving in a rain as the pavement was very wet from the snow melt. Our car is a very dirty little buggy now. Think I'll wait till a cooler period to wash it.

We're now held in ol' man winter's icey grip. Wind gusts exceeding 40 mph woke me at 2:00 a.m No snow..yet. Weather forecast is grim. 12-18" of the wite stuff a-comin' at us! Get up again at 6:00. About 2" on ground, snow still falling. Windy! The lights blinked twice and then went out! Did it 2 more times. Did remain on. Weatherman sez: a low, sittin' down around Wichita KS will move. If it moves toward weat, we get buried! If more toward east, 1-3". Wind has gone down, but snow is still fallin'....hm-m-m? WE have made preparations though. Stay in. Snack...read...TV...nap.(repeat)

We gots snow! First came 3"...then started w/big, fat flakes(MsAnna called it-a Christmas snow),the size you can catch on your tongue. Then..switched to small stuff, coming down fast. Got 2". So, we gots snow. Warm-up coming this week-end and into next week. Middle of next..40! This 'white-flake event' will be history.
