I'm in the Midwest so I don't have access to beaches either! But I had the good fortune to have family in Oregon and an employer that allows me some travel so I have been to beaches on the west coast. America is just like anywhere else except we tend to think we're more important that anyone else in the world! We value our freedoms, we're generally a little messed up regarding moral and social issues, but by and large, our nation is made up of honest and hard-working men and women with diverse interests and loves.
