Yes, Kitty has diabetes. She has lost a lot of weight, but is hanging in there. She doesn't mind the shots too much, but you do have to get them in subcutaneously, if you hit muscle, etc, the vet (and that website) said it would be not so good and more painful. Another problem might be the needles--they get dull very easily, and really shouldn't be used more than twice at the most. A hard part was getting my cat to eat meat--this is the only cat I have had that didn't want to eat meat, even since she was a kitten. Strange, but true. She is now eating some meat, so that is helping. Good luck, and you are really kind to go ahead and help treat his cat so he doesn't have that worry, too.
