I'd have to do some digging to find out where our clan was from. Dalseid was on the paternal side, Rustad was my grandmother's maiden name. On my maternal side the family name was Christopherson and someone in that group has done extensive research into the family tree. My maternal grandfather's name was Horst, German but his family immigrated as Russians. The family history gets a bit muddy in places.

Hi, I just googled Dalseid (in norwegian we would most likely write it without the h) There is a place called Dalseid in the western part of Norway, not far from Bergen.

Hei, so nice to be ypur friend. There is a lot of norwegians in USA. My husband has family in Seattle. Dahlseid is a norwegian name, do you know what area of Norway?

ohai hege! I'm mostly Norwegian of the Johnson variety. I'm told that the family name in Norway was Dahlseid or something like that. I live in the upper midwest USA where there are tons of 3rd generation Norskies. Glad 2 meetcha!
