It was probably the tell-tale glow of the screen sneaking out from under your door. There was no way my parents were going to let me have my own television. They had to use a pry-bar to get me away from the family set. They did give me a radio, though, because they found I'd settle down in bed with music on.
LOL! I got a tiny TV for my birthday one year. My bedtime was 1/2 way through a TV show I was watching, so I left my lights out, plugged in my earphones, and tried to watch the rest of the show. My dad busted me and I lost my TV for a while...
See, until I was 8, it was an 8 o'clock bed time. But then Mom gave up, because even sending me to bed at 8, I'd still be awake and in my room playing in the dark. Some kids are just born to be night owls.
LOL! I can still find stuff to entertain myself. While I'm on vacation, I'll need to pick & choose what to record, as I don't have enough machines to record everything for 10 days. I had 8 p.m. bedtime on school nights until I was in Junior High school. THEN it was 8:30.
My parents let me stay up until 9 to watch Little House on the Prairie on School nights, but it was usually 8 o clock bed time until the weekend. I got to stay up on Friday nights to watch Love Boat with my sis. Ah, and now i can stay up as late as I want.... and there's nothing on i want to watch!
Ooops! Steed & Peel! I( was a very young girl when that show was originally on TV here. It was on too late for me to watch until summertime. When it was on again, after I got married, my husband and I used to watch it. it's an odd show, but I find that I still enjoy it. :)
Okay, are we talking the Emma Peel and John Steed "Avengers" or the Tony Stark and Co. "Avengers"? I'm into the latter. The show was just a teeny bit before my time!
