Just saw about your medical situation--- Holy carp! I'd been wondering where you'd gotten to and just ED'd your convo with Mamawalker. Mom's had two strokes this year and the last one has put her in the hospital until we can get her into a nursing home. I know kind of what you're going through from peripheral observation in Mom's ward. Take care of yourself, dear sir. One is plenty!!

Thanks my dear---it is much appreciated. St. Patty's was indeed a Gong Show...one bad act after another. No saints involved here. Hope you have a great week with less snow!!

Congrats on "Tomorrow" and "Ladies and Gentlemen" getting FPs! And i see you've been making more future FPs! Hope St. Patricks Day didn't drive you too crazy. Did you know that in Ireland they have the craziest celebration of all-- everyone just goes to church. Because it's a Saint's day.

Yeah it's a bummer about the Stomper but he had a pretty good following so he'll be played forever (at least here). Enjoy the Chalet Sauce and downtime on the farm kid. Take care!

Thank you! It's been a good birthday except for the dashboard change and the death of Stompin' Tom Connors. Tomorrow's dinner with my parents (Swiss Chalet.... Mmmmm..... Sauce!) and Saturday I'm at the farm with my friends, so the rest of the week should be great! hope all is well with you and congrats on landing two FPs today!

Dear Safrida, Hope you had an awesome birthday and a great surrounding week to wrap it in. Pete

Who was that masked teacher Lady? I dunno but she left a silver laser pointer behind. I was out in it last night and early this morning and managed to miss the most of it but it was a lousy drive home. Stay in safely ensconced with the cocoa flowing freely.

I'm always happy to help local Law Enforcement! Now I must go. Someone, somewhere may have need of.... The Supply Teacher! (Stands heroically with cape fluttering in wind) Well, not so much today. School busses are cancelled and I haven't seen or heard a city bus since I woke up. Snow's up to mid-wheel well on the cars in the parking lot. It's a good day to stay in with some hot cocoa and good tunes. Stay safe, if they're making you work today!

DUHHUIUHH---me spell gooder!! Thanks my dear--I owe you on that one!
By safrida on Feb 8, 2013 at 9:40 AM
Psst! Pete! PETE!!! It's Omaha, not Ohama! You may want to fix that! I hate to interrupt the brilliance, but I thought I'd better pppoint that out.

Beets are my kryptonite--absoulutely hate them cause they taste like purple dirt to me. Congrats on the victory--remember the old saying: if at first you don't succeed--time to go hands on. Crazy weather huh? Either way I know I'm gonna get sick.
By safrida on Jan 30, 2013 at 9:03 AM
No matter how it's prepared or who did it, I still can't gag it down. Oh, you'll be happy to know that the team was victorious on Sunday. I used the butt of my shotgun to take out one bad guy who was in close quarters with one of my team mates. Couldn't shoot him and not hit her, so brought down the wrath in another way. I'm turning into the queen of the blunt weapons!
By Pete1146 on Jan 29, 2013 at 9:22 PM
Thanks much. I used to really hate squash but have learned to tolerate it-- some types are better than others.
By safrida on Jan 29, 2013 at 12:14 PM
Congrats on the Squash FP. I agree with that puppy. It's my least favourite food on the planet!

Generally, it's a team-play D&D style thing we do. Except last month when the DM running the game was hit by the Cold From Hell, and we switched to a board game, which was still a team-play thing. It allows the group to win (or lose) by playing to everyone's strengths. I'm not a great strategy person, but I'll smack the crap out of anything that gets in my way! Hugs!

You're so sweet & thank-you. I hope you have a great time with your friends protecting the universe. Rebar is definitely handy in a pinch but anything can be a potential weapon---ABC--always be calculating how to take someone down if you had to. I personally luv zapping a horde of zombies whenever I'm in the matrix. Just remember its all a game unless u win then mercilessly rub it into you friend's faces. Cheers! ;)

I think they should investigate putting pharmaceutical doses on your messages, because just one is like getting three happy pills. You are a great guy! Have a safe weekend. I'll be with my friends for our monthly gaming day-- slaying baddies in outer space! You should see me in action with a chunk of rebar. (No actual baddies were harmed/killed in the last gaming session. No need to check the swamp for bodies.)

I had the better part of 20 years retail tortu...mmmm...experience also. You are doing the right thing despite the idiocies the government throw around. And yes I find a lot if young people do have certain advantages over others but I had to pay my own freight for school too. I've noticed that sometimes the fluffs who get ahead don't last too long once the rubber hits the road. Hold fast to your dreams my girl. Hope your weekend goes great!

I hear you about hanging in there. The only good thing about the "Git yer ass in the class" Bill 115 (Okay, it was called "Putting students first") was that they have to start giving permanent jobs to people like me who have been on the supply list forever, instead of passing me over for lil' miss "The ink hasn't dried on my diploma yet, but I'm o-so perky!" It's easy to afford the additional qualifications when you're still living with ma and pa, but a bitter ol' divorced gal like myself can't afford $500 for a course and still keep a roof over her head. I came to this a little later, too, but it took only 3 years of retail hell to make me choose the correct path. Have a good night, sir!

Well I hope it picks up for you-- it's all about hanging around till the wheel turns. I didn't become a cop till I was 43-- coulda woulda shoulda. At one point I was going to be a teacher but that fell through. Just keep plugging till it all eventually falls into place. Believe me-- I had one cruddy job after another and a failed marriage over the last 25 years. I wouldn't want to do it again but it was worth it.

I see you've been busy whipping up some new lols! The fact I'm on here at 3:07 and not either on the bus coming home or wrapping things up in a classroom should tell you how the supply work is going-- sucktacular. But I have some faint comfort in knowing it's not just me who's been inflicted with idleness. Board-wide, a lot of secondary supplies are twiddling their thumbs. I'm just happy that I already had a fondness for ramen noodles! And Cheezburger has made the idleness a lot more bearable. Hope you enjoyed your dinner!
By Pete1146 on Jan 21, 2013 at 4:31 PM
I'm being summoned hence for dinner so have a good one my dear.
By Pete1146 on Jan 21, 2013 at 4:30 PM
Been a little spotty here. It could be raining A-bombs and people will be out being bad. Just be careful if you're out in it. How's the sub teaching been going?
By safrida on Jan 21, 2013 at 4:09 PM
It just started snowing here at five and it's still coming down. I didn't pay attention to the forecast this morning to hear how much we're getting. Well, I'll know when it stops! You would think that when the temperature is minus O-my-god, people wouldn't be out being silly, but I guess there's more indoor silliness. Or vehicular silliness.
By Pete1146 on Jan 21, 2013 at 3:42 PM
MOre on the freezing end. Worked till 4 am today and it was cold. People still out being naughty though! Hope you stay warm and not much more snow coming for you.
By safrida on Jan 21, 2013 at 3:15 PM
I shall fave it again, then. Digging out today or freezing? Doing both here at the moment.
By Pete1146 on Jan 21, 2013 at 2:16 PM
My dear--just a heads up that I redid some of my recent ones including the FOOTSTEPS one and I know you liked it. Hope all is well with you and you have a great week.!!
By Pete1146 on Jan 18, 2013 at 12:10 PM
Thanks my dear...I have to admit...I kinda liked that one too. That being said it will probably go nowhere. Hope you are well and doing better. As well hope the family is good. I am working the w/e so thanks for that and stay warm kid. Thanks again.
By safrida on Jan 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM
Pete: Fooststeps-- BRILLIANT! If I could print that off and hang it on the wall, I would. Hope you have a good weekend!
By safrida on Jan 8, 2013 at 6:47 PM
Thanks, Pete. You are too kind! The outpouring of support on Cheez has been very helpful, and will definitely get me through the worst over the next two days during the funeral and visitation. Hope you have an uneventful week at work.
