I'm sure that some other politician will do something monumentally stupid. It's just not often Canada's got one this visible and mock-able. As for his family, yes, I feel sorry for them. At least three colleagues have said that Ford's wife presents all the symptoms of an abused spouse. Wouldn't surprise me. And the kids? Gawd, they must be going through hell at school. I had a student years ago whose father was in a publicized court case (he had swindled a few hundred thou out of a local hockey organization) and I made it clear o the lad that I wasn't going to let people harass him over what his Dad did or didn't do. Only ever had to shut down one other student over it, but that was only 75 minutes in a day.

Sometimes theme LOLs will make FP if their humor stands on its own. What they do is just take off any titiles that refer to the theme. All is good here now that our last major house project is done and I can spend some time here again :)

Just got an e-mail from Miss Kitty's hoomin. "She's sick with a serious liver condition (Hepatic Lipidosis), so most of our time right now is focused on trying to see if we can get her well again. Lots of vet visits and sleepless nights (we have to make sure she gets food every 3 hours or so, even at night), and generally just giving her as much love and attention as we can." So it may be a drawn-out kind of thing. Still, she has two very determined and persistent hoomins, so they will do all in their power to get her through this if she has the strength to fight. Thanks to you and Black Friday for helping to spread the word!

The roughness is partially unavoidable-- zipping around the ice after a common target, you're bound to have a few high-speed collisions-- but the fights are another thing. From what I can tell, a lot of it is staged for the sake of the media, and some is legitimate hot tempers. I personally hate hockey (don't tell anyone because I think you can lose citizenship over that) but I know Dad gets disgusted with teams that fight more than they score. The fan violence over hockey is mostly, again, a select pack of idiots who would try to start a riot if Baskin'Robbins ran out of their favourite flavour.

Hoo boi, I know that hockey is reeely big in Canada along with the northern tier of the US. Ithink the media play up the roughness sometimes and it is a game of skill and finesse.

Same here. I do not have enough computer savvy to get too snarky about glitches. It just means I have to find something else to do with my time until it's fixed. Stuff happens. Move on. But the Unknowns boils my eggs when I see prolific and funny lol'ers like Chianty, Patblo and some of my other friends get passed by for something that was clearly ripped off of someone's facebook page. And it's worse when I recognize a lol I've seen before being featured. The one wiht the two mice I know for a fact has been featured before. So, I shall affix my bayonet of wit and attack. Hey, gotta use that English degree for something.
