Technically, I'm a high school teacher for English and History, but due to the crappy job situation within my board (mostly lack of jobs), I supply teach, which is why I'm here so often.

The one i recall was calling himself guest01 or somesuch. So you're a teacher? What subjects/grde levels?

I recall the kid. He was friends with some of my friends, but for professional reasons, I'd never friended him myself. (Teacher thing- no friends under 18 to maintain "professional distance") I recall that his name was Benderisgreat. I personally don't "get" the Bronies, but at the same time, I don't "get" sports fans or people who watch reality t.v. That being said, I was trying to explain a clip of X-Men to my Dad the other day and he gave me the same kind of "Well, whatever floats your boat, kid" look I would give the Bronies. We all have our stuff!

Yes, this is the first time we've lost a young member of this community so unexpectedly. There have been others--a gal in her '40s went from cancer a few years back. I think I heard that a young fellow died in a crash last year but he didn't have deep ties to us. I've wondered how many communities exist here, I thought there must be thousands, but apparently not. Us--(roots in '07-'08), the Bronies (last 2-3 years), and I've seen edges of a few others. BTW I gotta hand it to the Bronies--guys unafraid to show a tender playful side to their nature.

I guess we're all reeling from the news yesterday that C_A_T died. I read what you posted to the Sofa and I have to say, there is a curiosity, and I wouldn't call it morbid, about how someone so young could suddenly shuffle off the mortal coil. I think it stems from his age. Chris was only a year younger than me. It would be something different if someone in their 70s-90s had passed, because, not to be insensitive, that's age. But 44? People ask out of shock, especially when t comes out of nowhere. Holding your hand as we grieve.

Ohai...re Shug...very strange senseless forensics. Sis--(Schmeg) died last January of seeming electrocution--burns on a paw and tongue. No sign of chewed cords, no appliances or lights shorted out. This time...Shug found lying by another set of electrical cords. No signs of chewing, no lights or appliances shorted out. They were littermates, both born in early 2008. Vet autopsied, found "fluid in lungs" (sudden onset cardiac myopathy? Vet could not autopsy heart after rigor mortis set in, apparently). I had walked through the door she died by only 3 hours earlier at 9 AM. Already COLD by 12:30 noon. Vet also thought she had a burn on her tongue from biting on an electrical cord. THAT all is why this makes NO SENSE... BUT I GOTTA LET IT GO. Bless U for caring!

Sorry to see that your kitteh passed suddenly. You're right; five years is horribly young. Has anybody figured out what happened?

You'd have to check with Psom, I think, on the original "Foofany" creator. I know she knows. I just came up with Tiny Tina and the Tabsworth brothers.

Hmm. i'm not on Facebook or I'd see if I could find it. But with the way Cheezburger was working last night, it may have gotten sucked into the internets and spit out somewhere else.

PS Who has the original Foofany site out of you'all?

Re the LOL I posted yesterday: It was one I posted to someone's timeline and now I can't find it, and my "history" feature is coming up blank. ARGGGGG

Thanks! You're right that it makes a big difference to have the support of the online friends as well as the RL pals. Mom was transferred to the rehab ward today, so we're all hoping she's going to start showing a little more improvement. Hugs!

Sorry. Teacher humour. We always get at least one kid whose parents give them a "unique" name that they absolutely hate. And while I haven't actually had anyone named Herpalina yet, I'm sure it's coming! Have a great day!

"I think she was in my second period Grade 9 English class three years ago..." Uh oh, at a loss...

By safrida on Apr 10, 2013 at 6:07 PM

I think she was in my second period Grade 9 English class three years ago. Was going to change her name to Mary as soon as she was 18. ;) Hope you're having a great night!
