You should try Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series--he puts mystery in an urban fantasy setting and has good pacing. I'm on the 4th book, and each one is better than the last.

you know that's very interesting, i've found so many book lovers on this site there must be some connection btwn. luving lols and luving books (does this mean there is a lolaphile just like a bibliophile?) But yes, please let me know ur favs! my two genres are mystery and fantasy -for mysteries i tend to like series with adventure, and for fantasy i like series that are not overly complicated or descriptive -my fav there is terry brooks if you've read him, with terry goodkind and george martin being up there too.

Teh Harry Potter movie predates Doctor Who, so it was more a matter of picturing said slimy villain as an all-time good guy. And if you're looking for books recommendations, you can ask me too. I sell books for a hobby. www.buythebookcv.com

hmm, i'll see if i can find that wishology series online. we watch some shows on fox too, mostly fringe, dollhouse and bones. we also have some battlestar galactica to catch up on, which i'm excited about. :)

Nothing as good as Dr Who, but I am loving American Idol and Lie to Me for completely different reasons. I just finished watching a cartoon show with my daughter that was very clever. It will be shown again. It's a three-part series called Wishology, and it references all kinds of epic stories from LOTR to Terminator. In Part 1, "the darkness is coming" and "the stars are going out," and the darkness has sent evil robots who say "Eliminate" ;)
