Is that because of the G.I. Bill of 1944? Here it is usually more than a decade of service due to the neutral stance of the country, except for peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Chad, Congo and Kosovo, my girlfriend's father has been in the army for 30 years.

That really sucks, I feel you. Here if you join the United States military, you pay 0 tuition for college. The average service length is 4-6 years followed by 2-4 years of inactive reserve and after that you can choose to leave the military or expand your term in it.

It's the same situation here, my girlfriend is on the dole and she cannot afford to go to college, neither can her parents afford to send her to college, but what sickens me about it all is that her dad is a combat veteran of the Irish Army, he has been on tour at least half a dozen times in the Lebanon and Kosovo, yet he is being forced out of the army due to government cutbacks.

There are a lot of job options here. We have welfare. (our government handout) it's about $1,100 a month. What grinds my gears though is that people that are lazy or a drug addict don't need welfare and still feed off of the government. The states are trying to pass laws for a mandatory drug test for welfare recipients. So far only 1/50 states passed a law like that. I hoe all of the states do that.

Aye, here it's either teach in a high school or go on the dole (which is a government handout of $100 a week, but they make it so that it is impossible to live on it)

I'm hoping to get a job whether or not it's for a company or government doesn't matter to me.If that doesn't workout I'll just go independent. Pretty much keeping my options open.

By simception on Jan 22, 2013 at 7:42 AM

so would want to work in IT for a company or independently?

By brony_pete on Jan 21, 2013 at 6:00 AM

Yeah it would be.

it's interesting enough but bucking hard, you pretty much have to come up with your own ideas and conclusions on moral, historical and philosophical questions, but a good way to become a high school teacher

By brony_pete on Jan 21, 2013 at 5:46 AM

That sounds interesting.

By brony_pete on Jan 12, 2013 at 7:13 PM

That's for sure. So how's it going?

By simception on Jan 12, 2013 at 7:06 PM

Neither do I, however our social humor is no holds barred.

By brony_pete on Jan 11, 2013 at 8:05 PM

Personally, I don't find any humor in the death of any person.

By simception on Jan 11, 2013 at 7:08 PM

it's vice versa for us, first the jokes then the accomplishments, and believe me when it comes to jokes in bad taste, we are the kings.

By brony_pete on Jan 11, 2013 at 6:08 PM

Oh wow, when a celebrity dies here we look at what they have accomplished in their lifetime and how they inspired. The jokes usually don't happen until some time has past. But their typically bad in taste.

By simception on Jan 11, 2013 at 6:03 PM

It's hard to explain but the only way I can explain it is if a famous celebrity dies the way I usually find out about it is through a joke about their death.
