Thank you so much! Nannie would have been 91 in Dec. Oddly enough my Poppaw died exactly 30yrs ago today! She was the last living of 13 siblings. It's hard for us to let go but at the same time we have to realize that for them, it's a blessing! My Mommaw will be 91 next month. She still lives alone, drives, crochets those lace name doilies, and could probably out run most of her kids, grands, greatgrands, and possible her great-greatgrands! LOL

Hi. Sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. I know you'll miss her. I lived with my grandmother's younger sister until she passed. She was 93. I still miss her every day. She was our rock. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Hugs, Linda (wally01)

My tub watcher is Jasmine Nicole! She gives me this look like "why"! Jaws-of-life come from when i worked with Mom as an EMT. She ran the ambulance service in a nearby town and i took call for her sometimes. In fact, i'm one of these weird people that do a little bit of everything. I'm also a licensed cosmetologist, was "grandfathered" in as a Social/Activity Director at a nursing home, Optometry Tech, do computer repair (It was under "Just Call Angie" because that's what everyone would say... Just call Angie she'll fix it!), ran the car lot with my husband, and thanks to my Daddy I will tear into anything. I can fix most things on my vehicle, my A/C unit, dishwasher, etc. LOL Jim would say "Call someone to fix it' and I'd say "Well let me look at it first! ". Guess what you'd call a jack of all trades.

Oh, girl! You are so funny. I love the "jaws of life" LOL. That's just what my Isabella wants to do when I'm in the tub. I guess she thinks I'm gonna drown. Hugs, Linda

No, it doesn't sound awful at all! LOL I also have a loaded gun, and have a concealed weapon permit. But... I don't carry a gun. I have a taser and make sure it's got fresh batteries in it. In AR, you don't need a permit for a taser and I can carry it in Walmart in my purse with me. And at around $30, it can't be beat! Mine also has a siren on it and a safety strap so it can't be taken away and used on me.

Sometimes it's good to have a mean reputation, then nobody wants to mess with you! Everybody here knows that I keep a loaded shotgun, and I know how to use it. I live within a quarter mile of two prisons. I was here first, but that doesn't count. If someone comes to see me after dark, they know to call first! That sounds really bad doesn't it? Anyway, you gotta do what you gotta do. You are a keeper! Hugs, Linda

Awww, thank you my friend for what you said to Templecat196! Like I told Betsy, I'm actually the meanest woman in Howard Co! LOL I think you're definitely a keeper too! :)

I'm so glad that you are feeling better. You're right. He shouldn't have the nerve to ask for any time off. However, we both know that not everybody has a conscience. And, too, we're alike in that when we're hurt, we tend to withdraw into our own safe world. I did that after my Mom passed away, and she wasn't ripped away from me like your parents were. Asking for parole is rubbing salt in an already raw wound. I'll keep those prayers going up. Love ya, my new friend. Linda (wally01)

Thank you so much! I'm better definitely. This has been a big weight off my shoulders. As the oldest child, I've been the one to handle everything. You shouldn't have to stand in front of a parole board and ask for justice... especially when they've already written 40yrs off for good behavior. In my 15 minute speech I told them that I'd been raised by Christian parents and taught to take responsibility for what I did. And.. that if I had taken 2 wonderful peoples lives like these 4 boys did, I wouldn't have the gall to even ask for early release. And then stupid me decided to Google Mom and Dad's name and of course it's all right there!! Otherwise, everyone is reminding me of why I like to live like a hermit with my furbabies and a computer! LOL I hope this new butane company works out. I've got all electric but had butane several years ago. It can be a hassle! I hate to try to change any type of suppliers. DirecTv is bad but DishNetwork is worse....etc. Hopefully gas will stay down for you this winter. I really appreciate the prayers and thoughts. I come over here because the kittehs are relaxing and make me smile. Since adding all of y'all as friends, the smile is even bigger!!

Hi. It's good to hear from you and to hear good news! I know you are relieved that the decision was the one you wanted. I hope that you aren't as stressed as you seemed yesterday. I had a busy day today. I made the decision to switch propane companies. I only use it for winter heating, but I needed to do it by the end of the month. The new company has cheaper propane prices and tank rental and not as many added fees. My neighbor went with them last year and really likes them. Hope you have a great day tomorrow. Hugs, Linda

Parole Denied!!!! Amen!!! Thank you, Lord! And thank you for your prayers!!

All kitties welcome whether they can play the piano or not. Their company is enough. Thank you, Linda

Thank you so much! I really do think it will go our way. We'll find out on the 19th. I ended up with almost a 1000 signatures on petitions, several letters, calls from 2 county police dept & state police, a state representative, and a state senator, plus I had 15minutes to explain our position. Too often the justice system is so busy trying to protect the rights of the criminals so they don't get sued, that the victims (& their families) end up the ones actually being punished.

Hi. I hope things went well for you at the hearing. You were on my mind a lot. I got busy with the little boys and didn't get on earlier. Linda

By themom101 on Jun 4, 2012 at 11:03 PM

Yes... to both! Prayers are the only way to get thru this crazy life, and yeah, it's probably real easy to behave when you weigh about 130lbs and are in prison with some really big guys!

By wally01 on Jun 4, 2012 at 10:34 PM

With your background, I assume you believe in prayer. I can't sign a petition, but I'll keep you in my prayers Wednesday and on up until the 14th. Isn't it amazing how their behavior gets so much better when they're behind bars? It's a total crock! Linda

By themom101 on Jun 4, 2012 at 10:12 PM

I go Wednesday morning. They will meet with him on the 14th. Then I'll have an answer within 30days. He wasn't supposed to come up for parole until 2032 but they wrote off 40yrs for good behavior! ARGH!! I have over 800 signatures on petitions so far and still have to pick up the ones from 2 more towns.

By wally01 on Jun 4, 2012 at 9:36 PM

Yep. Small towns in the South made for a lot of sheltered kids. I was, too. I'm sorry about your parents. Losing parents is a hard thing to accept but really hard when they are taken from you. What day do you go to the hearing? Linda

By themom101 on Jun 4, 2012 at 9:31 PM

My Mom and Dad were murdered in '92. In fact I have to go to a parole hearing for 1 of the guys Wed. I'm also a contact person for POMC (Parents of Murdered Children). Everyone in the org is a survivor that lost someone to violence. I lived a sheltered life I think. I didn't really know what the real world was like. MY world was love and family and laughter. My husband was an amazing man with a heart of pure gold. (I'm still married, he just moved to Heaven) I've got 1 daughter, and a large extended family. I just prefer to stay home with my babies and let the rest of the world do what it will. And, yeah, we do sound a lot alike! Small world. Both my Great-grandfathers were preachers too, and my step-great-grandfather. They were the hellfire and brimstone type and I was convinced @ age 4 I was going to Hell! LOL My grandfather was a gentle preacher that managed to get the Word across with love.

Oh, you may be my long lost twin! I understand completely. My parents married young (17-Dad ad 18-Mom) so they lived with my grandparents until I was 3. They moved to the east end of the family farm into my great-uncle's house. It's a long story. All 6 kids got part of the family farm when my great-grandfather died. Five of the kids stayed here and farmed, but 1 great-uncle moved to Memphis with his family. I had a large extended family. Lots of eyes to keep me on the straight and narrow, and they did, too! My granddaddy was a Baptist deacon, and he took his responsibilities very seriously. I was a wimpy little kid though. I never wanted to disappoint any of them. I don't like being the only one left either. My brother passed away 2 years ago, and I really miss him. He was 7 years younger than me. I guess there's a reason for it so I have to accept it.Linda

Exactly! I grew up in Dierks, another tiny town! And, with my grandfather (a preacher) on the city council, and my Mom the city treasurer/recorder, and my Daddy (the youth minister @ church) I didn't dare try anything out of line! LOL I'm pretty much a hermit now. I lost my parents in '92 & my husband in '06, and have learned the hard way that most people don't do what they say and will use the thing that cuts the deepest when they decide to hurt you. I'm one of these crazy people that believes that everyone should just do what they are supposed to, but sadly too few do anymore!

By wally01 on Jun 4, 2012 at 8:47 PM

I know exactly what you mean. My town is small, too. If I did something naughty when I was little, the news got home before I did! My family has been here since the 1800s. I'm the last one left.I have a few cousins scattered around, but I didn't have any children. I have two nephews who are scarce most of the time. It's home, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Linda

Southwest corner... Mineral Springs. Tiny place! LOL But, everyone knows everyone else and, of course, if you need to know what you did last week... and sometimes what you're GOING to do next week.. someone will tell you! :)

I had an old book that had a recipe in it that I used many times. Now I can't find the book! Yours is very familiar, except I don't remember using infant vitamins. I bough 1 container of dry formula, but it is so expensive. It was $15, and that was with a discount! Again, thanks so much for sharing. I have a question if you don't mind answering? Where do you live in Arkansas? Linda (wally01)

By themom101 on Jun 4, 2012 at 8:17 PM

Very, very welcome. That was given to me by an old country vet and has been tried and approved by several litters of kitties. The last 4 I found and bottle fed loved it so much it took me 9 weeks to wean them and then Buster still expected a bedtime bottle for another week or two! LOL

Hi. EDd your message about the kitten formula. I have two orphan brothers that I got last Friday. They are itty bitty and aren't ready to eat by themselves yet. I needed a formula recipe, and I couldn't find the one I've used before. Alas, my memory wouldn't cooperate either! Thanks for sharing it with luvmy8catz so that I could hijack it. You're a lifesaver! Also, thanks for accepting my friend request. Linda (wally01)
