Hi! I have always been busy outside of work, been in craft shows until it got to be too much. I already knew how I was going to spend my retirement, sewing, crafting, reading, trying to take it easy, only doing what I wanted to do w/o stress from others, etc. I am mostly a hermit, don't like crowds and 95% of my friends are gone, family is in the west coast, so being alone suits me, I also don't like people dropping unannounced, really bugs me!!! Oh! I made an 8 x 10 drawing for a friend who moved to Utah, she is a Pitt Univ. grad and loves Snoopy, her old school and is a fierce football fan, so I drew a Snoopy with the word "Pitt" on the bottom as a going away gift - see yet another friend left the state. *sigh* She cried when she saw it, emailed me that she was getting it framed. I had plans on getting a partime job, like to stay busy, but now I can't. I commend you for working. Want to go back to working on my quilt, but no energy.

You're welcome. I am crocheting 3 scarves for Christmas gifts. Last year I made and gave 50+ tree ornaments even tho it was hard dealing w/the motor skills. I was a state employee so I know what it's like not getting a raise for years. Told my nurse I wanted to get back to normal, she said this is my NEW normal, so depressing! Teachers are nice, giving ppl, I have no patience for it, too old, cannot be around kids any longer, they get on my nerves. Did my stuff in schools, room mother, cookie mother for Scouts, craft teacher, PTA this and that, ended up with being a Band Aid, helping the high school band & traveling to away games. daughter was in color guard, rifle twirler. I loved marching in w/the band when we got there. This granny-type loves football, altho I never became one, thank God!

Thank you so much for the krispies! I'm sorry you're home so much because of a stroke. But I envy you that you're not working. I'm part time but it's teaching so it's a lot of work at home too...we haven't had a pay raise for 5 years. I guess I'm just getting old and tired! What craft have you been working on recently?

You're welcome! Good for you working PT, wish I could do it, retired Dec. 2006, can't believe it's five years already. Volunteered at my old job, then had a stroke, so am home all the time unless I go grocery shopping. Boooorrrring.

Thank you for the gifting! I really appreciate it. I started back to work a month ago and with all the changes I feel like I'm working all the time even though it is part time. Hope all is well with you.

Sorry, I don't know who Elizabeth Peters is, never heard of her. My ultimate fave is Sue Grafton, love her style of writing.

Yessssssss, who are your fave authors? Not doing much reading for now, started a new quilt but hard to work on it when it's 90+ degrees outside. Somehow, just working with the batting makes it no fun. Also working on a few crafts. Must share time for all, reading can happen in the winter months when I'm dressed in layers trying to keep warm <:o)
