I live in SD now, but spent my formative years back and forth across the state line, mostly in Harrisonburg. Wish I could've been in Elkins for the Forest Festival, always loved that! And I miss real apple butter, and real buttermilk and...ramps.

Ah...I miss the mists curling up out of the mountains, those long heavy twist of fog that just seem to hand there...*sigh* I do not, however, miss the kiss-your-own-ass curves in the roads! Mom was from Mingo, my father was from Slaty Fork, and I've got family in Elkins, Ripley, Beckley and Morgantown. I need to go back for a vitsit - no one out here knows what the hell scrapple or REAL apple cider are!

The scratching and shredding I know well, I finally cured Twinkle Toes, Billy and Jebediah But Osama Bin Kitten still thinks that two scratchy posts and two hundred cat toys are not sufficient to divert her attention from shredding the couch. Luna(OBK) is an adventurous soul. The week after I brought her home when she was still a wee kitteh she decided she wanted to know what went on in the spa (which is usually covered unless I am using it, which I was at the time) she took a flying leap from the deck and swan dived into the bubbles. Of course lots of bubbles = no bouyancy and she looked like Esther Williams with her little back feet sticking into the air. I tried not to laugh but the look of complete indignance as I bundled her into a towel was hillarious.

Hi Tigeez, Thankyou for being my new cheez friend. Siorry I haven't mastered LOL speak yet but I am working my way up to it. House work, bleuahhhh, shudder............. I have threatened to make a harness and have the hairy horde tow the vacuum cleaner around the house like huskies if they don't stop malting and bringing in moths. The other week I found a frog sitting in one of my orange sling backs. Not dead or mauled just sitting there with its little front feet sitting over the ankle strap. If you ever do make it to Oz let me know, my door is always open to other cheezers.

Why yes! I gave up a long time ago on that one. My kitties can drink outta anything I'm drinking - as long as they don'y have a cold or the sniffles - or are "letme dip my paw in there and lick off of it" kitties. But we keep spray bottles full of water ALL OVER THE HOUSE to spray them if they try to get into anyone else's glass or if they try to eat off our plates - I HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE SOMEWHERE! You may have missed it but I have 23 cats - 20 of them inside. (it's okay... U can call me crazzy anytime u want to). T

When Dennis was at the first no-kill shelter his head was so BIG they started calling him Blockhead. But when he got adopted for the first time the lady renamed him Dennis. He answers to both, but when I take him by the shelter to visit they call him Blockhead. He sniffes crotch and drinks beer when he goes to visit there - he loves it! I bet he'd let them call him anything they wanted to as long as they gave him beer! T

I spoil mine too! They give us so much, and ask for so little, it makes me feel constantly lucky to share my life with 'em!! btw, 10-Q for discovering the cat-on-the-phone LOL, I'd been searching all over for a pic for the babysitter legend!! :)
