Hiya Zackcat! Hope you are well and enjoying the end of the year. Thank you for the YouTube on VHS collectible. Hopefully I'll have a few to send you before collectibles are discontinued!

Hmmm. Not sure where I got the idea you were from England. Oh, well! Thank you for the B'day wish. It was pleasant with my family. So glad that you are finally able to have a kitteh own you. It is so nice to have a furbaby curl up with you on a chilly fall and winter night. Hope that you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Holiday season!

By Alpha on Nov 22, 2011 at 9:12 AM

Hmm, nope, not from England, but am a born and bred NEW Englander! LOL. Have lived on the east coast all of my life, but in two weeks I'm making the westward haul! Am looking forward to leftover sammiches as well, and spending some time with my family before the move. We are all in transitional states right now so it's extra special to get us all together. Hope your Thanksgiving is warm and plentiful. Also, happy belated birthday, so sorry I missed it!

Ohai Alpha! Thank you for the Left-over Turkey sammich! It's one of my favorites. I look forward to having a one or two (or three!) after Thanksgiving. Are you in England? If you are, please excuse my ignorance, but do you have a comparable Holiday there?

By Alpha on Nov 16, 2011 at 3:02 PM

You are welcome :) I can understand the need to rest up after travel, it can certainly be exhausting! Have a very big roadtrip myself in the not so distant future, I am tired just thinking about it. Lol. Rest well!

By zackcat on Nov 16, 2011 at 12:57 PM

Ohai! Thankx for the collectible! One step closer to completing the set! Just back from holiday and trying to rest up from the trip. I'm not handling the driving as well as I did before. Might have to learn how to fly. LOL!

Hey, thanks for the pitchfork and scythe! Now I can have my own evil angry mob!

By Alpha on Oct 24, 2011 at 8:16 PM

No, not at all, no hurt feelings here, was really more worried I had offended you! Am usually too shy to speak my mind, so sorry for the rant! It's not typical Alpha behavior, but you really got me thinking about the subject and I guess I kinda ran with it. It was actually a nice distraction from all the stuff I have going on, lol! I definitely agree that there have been too many ads lately - everything in moderation, right?

By zackcat on Oct 24, 2011 at 6:16 PM

I'm sorry if you got the impression that I am anti-advert. I am just feeling that there is a bit too much on the Cheez-site. I don't mean that your husband should be put out of a job...Heavens forbid! Please forgive me if I slighted you or your hubby! It's one of my failings... putting my foot in my mouth. Again, Sorry.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize... Didn't mean to make you upset. I have so many other serious things on my mind lately that I honestly haven't been paying much attention to the state of the site. In my mind I’ve sort of disconnected the collectibles from the (admittedly tacky) promotions. Certainly I care less about completing the sponsored sets than the mainsite sets, but I do know that I have cheezpeeps who take all collecting seriously, and so I collect them in order to have a chance to help them out with any spares I may get. They’re just pixels in the end, and I have plenty of real life to live that doesn’t hinge on the collectibles. My perspective on this may be a little different than other people, mainly because both my husband and I work in e-commerce settings, and his employing company has run a few banner ads on the cheezburger sites. I don’t know what sort of benefit they are seeing from these specific ads, but they are seeing positive user base growth overall, and that makes me feel a little better about the security of his job for now. Certainly the cheez site has many more ads than the 'old days' and it is an unfortunate reality that it is an easy way for them to make revenue as a company based in cyberspace. Companies, particularly online companies since they only have that one intangible presence, create their faces, personalities and atmospheres via the way they choose to promote themselves, and many companies choose rather poorly in my mind. It would be nice if the cheez lords could give back to their users with that money that they are making, but it may be that they have rising costs and are selling the ad space to cover that. Since I don't know their internal costs, I can't make a judgment on whether it is that or just opportunistic money chasing. I do wish the site was more streamlined and less fractal, though, they have far more sites in their network than seems necessary. Perhaps if they didn’t spread themselves so thin they wouldn’t have to run so many ads on their site. A lot of people tend to forget that simpler is often better and often less is more, and that new things are not necessarily the best things. Really in my mind, ads are an unfortunate reality of commerce and make me sad more than anything else. Sorry for the huge message, but I wanted to send you a well thought out response and not just brush your comment aside; I hope I haven’t caused you more frustration and grief with my words.

I don't want to take credit for something Bikemadlass sent for you. She sent the Celeb Yaris to me to pass on to you. I was in a hurry the other day and just sped through the site to get collys and read mail. I was here and gone in five minutes at most. I am of two minds about these Yaris collectibles; It seems to be a huge advert campaign that the Cheez-Lords are making a boatload of monies from and send the peeps scurrying about trying to collect. Just seems a little tacky to me. Have you paid attention to the number of adverts on the front page? It's getting cluttered with ads. What do you think? Have a great week, I am going to be in speed mode for the next few weeks also; not going to have a lot of time to be on the Cheez-site. C U L8r!

No problem, guess I just have good timing! Teamwork is the way to go, you've definitely helped out my collectibles a lot too, especially when I'm away, which has been a lot lately. (speaking of which, thanks for the Celeb Yaris you sent!) Going to be really busy here soon for at least the rest of the year so I'm sure I'll miss a lot, but hopefully I'll still manage to get some spares to help you out :)

Thank you, one more time, for the collectible that completed that set. You have an uncanny ability to send me collys to finish sets. You Rock!

By Alpha on Sep 28, 2011 at 10:53 AM

Heya Zackcat! No problem at all, happy to send them your way when I have the ones you need. And thanks for the ones you've sent me lately, sorry I forgot to message you earlier! My being away was indeed for a happy thing, just a very very busy thing (read: I had two out of state weddings to attend within a week of each other, and I was making a dress for one of them). I thought life would slow down a bit once I got back, but it seems that won't be the case! Hope all is well in your corner of the world :)

By zackcat on Sep 28, 2011 at 9:34 AM

Thank you for the collectible! I don't get too many extras, but when I do get something you can use, I'll ship it to you. Hope your being away was a Happy thing and not a bummer. (Sorry, I EDed a part of your message to bikemadlass.) Thanks again! Have a Great day!
