The biggest news coming out of today's Nintendo Direct was the partnership between Sega and Nintendo for three Sonic games exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS. The first one is Sonic: Lost World which is the next installment in the Sonic franchise. Sonic Colors was a pretty great game so color me interested in with this partnership. The second is Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games. The third is yet to be announced. Also, more Sega Game Gear titles will appear on the Virtual Console.
Other big news is more information on Pikmin 3. New playable characters Alph, Brittany and Charlie are to take over for Olimar, the main character who appeared in previous Pikmin games. Also during the presentation, we got to see how the Wii U's GamePad (known as the KopPad in the game) is put to use as players can view the overall map and grasp what each character and Pikmin are up to. Pikmin 3 is coming to Europe on July 26 and North America on August 4, 2013.
Nintendo will also make several of their unreleased Wii U games playable at more than 100 Best Buy locations during the week of E3, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.
