It's starting to smell more like quarter-life for Nirvana's, "Smells Like Teen Spirit," which turns 25 later this week.
The song is the opening track, and lead single, from the band's second album, Nevermind (1991, DGC Records) and was written by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl.
The monumental video is considered one of the benchmarks of the grunge movement and propelled Nirvana to stratospheric success.
Tori Amon and many others have done covers in homage to the wicked tune:
We'd be privy to even more excellent covers of Nirvana's excellent tune-age if Courtney Love weren't such a total music tyrant.
So, in the meantime, hit up your local independent record store, get your own original copy of Nevermind, and pour one out for Kurt.
RIP, brother. Too soon.
