Cat are cute in every shape and size.
There are many reasons people surrender cats to a shelter, and we are not here to judge any of them. Your reasons are your own. However, recently a cat was surrendered for being “too fat” and it just broke our hearts. Again, not here to judge, but this poor feline friend really was dealt a difficult card. A fitness influencer, Hope Zuckerbrow, was told about this kitty by a friend who stumbled across her at their local Petsmart. The friend told Zuckerbrow that the cat seemed so scared and sweet. As a “fellow curvy girl" and cat person, Zuckerbrow wasn't about to let this sweet cat be left behind. She posted the cat's story on TikTok and immediately went to start the process of adoption.
Now, the cat is living a much-loved life with Zuckerbrow, her partner, and two other cats. She has named her Rory and her personality is sweet and cuddly. Rory's story has since gone viral and many other cat people cannot believe someone would just abandon their cat due to their weight. Rory is now on her health journey and looking and feeling better than ever. See for yourself below!

Hope Zuckerbow says in an update video:
“Update on the cat that I adopted that was surrendered for quite literally being too fat. When I first got her, she seemed to be pretty sick so I immediately took her into the vet. She got some blood work done, she got some medicine, and then I also gave her a good brushing. [I got a] very condensed ball of the hair when I brushed. I swear whoever had her before never brushed her… She started to look like she was feeling better though. She started exploring new areas in her room. [She has] her her cube. [She] cuddles up in her chair now. [She] started to like her bed, which I'm so happy about… [She likes] the windowsill to enjoy Mother Nature. She really seems to have a special place in her art for her father, which doesn't make me jealous at all. It's totally fine. We currently have her on a wet food diet to help her get her weight down, which doesn't seem to be a problem for her. She enjoys it, but I'm always open to recommendations if you guys wanna drop some. Decided to give her catnip and discovered that she likes to eat it, which is so funny, and roll around in it. I have two other cats and one only likes to eat it and one only likes to run around in it, but she does both, which is so funny. Her little playful personality has finally started to come out, which makes me feel so happy. We literally only got her a week and a half ago. This could have taken much longer of a process, so it makes me feel like we're doing something right. We're trying to play with her as actively as possible to help her get her weight down. As you can see, for a big girl, she will still move. She's still an active girly… I'd say we're headed in the right direction.”
