Stoners rejoice!
Oxford Dictionaries has chosen "vape" as its Word of the Year for 2014, thanks to our growing obsession with e-cigs and finding new and exciting ways to get high.
Oxford Dictionaries explains its decisions below:
"As e-cigarettes (or e-cigs) have become much more common, so vape has grown significantly in popularity. You are thirty times more likely to come across the word vape than you were two years ago, and usage has more than doubled in the past year."
On a related note, "budtender" was one of the runners up, along with "bae," "contactless," "indyref," "normcore," and "slacktivism."
