An Open Letter on the Internet Helps a Deployed Soldier See the Pup He Was Forced to Give Up
When 12-year-old Prinny's human passed away she was left in the care of her mom's son. The son is a soldier who was deployed to Iraq shortly after receiving the dog, forcing him to leave Prinny with the RSPCA.
Eventually, Prinny found her way to an adoption organization called Rescued With Love. When founder Kae Norman read Prinny's story she took to the Internet with an open letter that begins like this:
Dear soldier, you don't know me, but I know of you. I know you were heading to Darwin and then being deployed to Iraq. You are probably going through more than what anyone can ever imagine - and I wanted to ease your mind by letting you know that your Mum's dog Prinny is safe and happy with us at Rescued With Love.Though Prinny was an older dog and so considered more difficult of a candidate to find a forever home, she was adopted by her foster dad Brendan, who is a veteran.
Kae ends with the hope that "maybe this letter will find" its way the soldier. The open letter has since received nearly 3,000 shares and helped to track down Prinny's soldier. He is going to visit her while he is on leave.
