Earlier in the week, a stunning 4-year-old African serval cat had gone missing from its family home in New Hampshire. Spartacus, the tiny widdle 40-pound kitty, was at home when it suddenly got startled by something and ran out. Luckily, Spartacus was found a few days later, exhausted after having gone on an adventure of a lifetime that we wish we knew more about, and was returned safely to its owners.
The huge serval cat is legally owned by Dean King and his family who got him from a zoo in Florida 4 years ago. "It's devastating," said King to told NBC10 Boston on the day Spartacus went missing, "He's- he's a member of the family." The cat who was at home, got startled all of a sudden and ran out. "Last night, my wife was trying to bring the dog in, and something spooked him," King explained. They looked for Spartacus for hours and hours after he had run away but couldn't find him. "We bottle-fed him, we raised him, he has his own enclosure on the back side of the house," added King.
In the meanwhile, the Merrimack Police Department made a post about the cat on Facebook that has since gotten shared over 57 thousand times. It's possible that one of the reasons this story went as viral as it did was because of the hilarious picture of Spartacus standing next to a coffee machine, seemingly making coffee. We loved Spartacus immediately and so did the people on Facebook, turning him into a meme.
And so the search continued, and happily, Spartacus was found a few days after her went missing near its home. The police said that he was trapped, but thankfully, they helped King get Spartacus back home safely.
