“Thanks Obama,” the snarky meme in which people sarcastically thank the president, is a corner stone of the Obama presidency. Enjoyed by supporters and detractors alike, people say “Thanks Obama” for things as world changing as the Iran nuclear deal or as minor as T-Mobile being all weird again. Even President Obama’s gotten in the fun.
“Thanks Obama” is fun, snarky, and Donald Trump must have one.
That reality TV gameshow host who won the presidency last year isn’t one to let Obama take all the credit. At a time when he actually doesn't have any presidential power, Donald’s been taking credit for a lot of things he had nothing to do over the past month, but no one’s thanking him for not playing a role in the spoils of America. Donald thought he’d change that.
Last night, at around 7pm, Donald realized that no one thanked him the surge in the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index, so he thanked himself.
The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS! Thanks Donald!

Tagging his tweet “Thanks Donald!” indicates a few things: 1) This man needs to be thanked for everything, especially the things he had absolutely nothing to do with. 2) This man needs his own meme even if he has to start it himself. 3) This man gets “Thanks Obama,” the meme where people ironically thank the president for something the president has nothing to do with, perfectly.
Lucky for Donald the internet is here to thank him. Read some of the best #ThanksDonald tweets below. You’re welcome, Donald!
