Words can instantly heal us. You know this if one of your prominent love languages is words of affirmation. You could receive all the gifts in the world and all the quality time that somebody has to offer, but if you're not also hearing in words how much they mean to you, you'll never truly know. Some of us are just built that way. We love verbal communication, and we can't get enough of it. You also know this if you're a book lover. You know how the combination of words on a page can change your life and lead to wild flights of imagination. What would we do if we didn't have words? Would we just go around talking to each other all the time? How would we remember things that happened in the past? How would we record history? Would we just rely on oral storytelling passed down through generations? What kind of a world would that lead to? 

These are all interesting questions and worthwhile to mull over. But the truth is, we do live in a world of words. We can't get away from them. Even when we're not dealing with them for work, we're looking at them for entertainment. Like these tweets.
