For years, the ol' dihydrogen monoxide gag has been a mainstay of internet culture and beyond. This Tumblr thread, brought to us by Imgur user idigblurbs, details a Tumblr user who teaches 7th-grade science class all about her efforts to teach students how "dangerous" dihydrogen monoxide — more commonly known as H2O — can be. After going through a whole charade about how life-threatening the chemical can be and how little regulations are placed on its use, the teacher writes that they shock their students by drinking the solution… which is of course plain water. Just water! Nothing to fear here.
Hey, that's one way to get kids invested in their education. The only thing better than that first aha moment of getting it the first time is duping other people with it. For another example of some serious teacher cleverness, here's a teacher who used gummy bears to fight the power.
