Deepfake technology is improving rapidly. In the latest installment, MyHeritage just released a new AI-powered feature called Deep Nostalgia. This feature animates the faces of people in still photos, making them blink, smile and look around. As with anything that imitates real life, the reaction has been mixed: some people are spooked by these weird, almost realistic looking animations, and others think it's great. The intention is for people to upload photos of their deceased relatives, like your great-great-grandmother, and see her face moving around and looking much more lifelike than it appears in old photos. However, the fun thing is that you can use photos of celebrities, painted portraits of people, and even memes. The results range from serious to silly, and either way you'll be impressed.
