Eurovision 2021 has been a long anticipated event. Last year was the first time it didn't take place due to obvious reasons. It is the the most popular international singing competition in the world, and there are always a butt-load of surprises.This year, however, was full of record breaking scores and unconventional performances.

Italy won for the first time in over 3 decades.

San Marion received their first ever 12 points in a Eurovision final.

For the first time in 15 years, a band won first place: Italy's @Maneskinofficial

Israel's @Eden_Alene broke the record for the highest note sung is Eurovision history

Ireland and the United Kingdom finished lead last in the semi and grand final, respectively, for the second year in a row.

There was clearly a lot to talk about, and Twitter users go into it very quickly.

One of the biggest surprises was that the UK receives virtually no points. None from the other countries, and none from the public. It was pretty harsh to watch. But at least there were 4 other countries who also received no points from the public. Another Eurovision record...

Even though Eurovision is meant to be a show that doesn't deal with politics. You can't help but think about how it is kind of a popularity contest. And if there's one country that pisses off the rest of Europe, it is likely their singer will be punished. Again... Sorry UK.
