According to a report by World Animal News: "Between June 4th and 8th, Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff members observed three new wolf pups with their parents, collared wolves who are known to reside in the state." This exciting news had many Colorado locals feeling hopeful for these pups' future in the state.
Even the Governor shared his thoughts of excitement in a statement! "Colorado is now home to our first wolf litter since the 1940s. We welcome this historic den and the new wolf family to Colorado. With voter passage last year of the initiative to require re-introduction of the wolf by the end of 2023, these pups will have plenty of potential mates when they grow up to start their own families," said Governor Jared Polis.
Three sweet new pups ready to take Colorado head on! These three mark a very hopeful new beginning for the state of Colorado which has not seen a new wolf litter in over 80 years. We have a feeling many good things are coming!
Enjoy these photos of wolf pups, moms, dads, and lots of love.
