'Oh to be twelve again...' said no one. Middle school is the worst place on earth. Puberty is a b*tch and you just want to get through the day without getting bullied or traumatized in some way. As much as we wish we could stop the pain for kids before it happens, sometimes it leads to valuable life lessons. OP was stuck between telling her daughter that her outfit was wacky/tacky and hurting her feelings. She also didn't want to cramp her style (pun intended). She wanted her daughter to have the freedom to make her own decision. But that definitely backfired here. The moral judges of Reddit had fun with this one.
