Font - I've read countless stories of deaths, injuries, negligence, etc from people leaving their pups at daycare/boarding and I'm so anxious about something happening while I'm away. I constantly worry about something happening to her in general whether it be at dog parks, off leash walks, other peoples dogs, or whatever else. I'm sure I probably need therapy haha, she's just my world and the thought of anything happening to her keeps me up at night.

Font - This is my first dog. We've had her for a year and a half and she basically comes everywhere with us. The only issue is that she is just slightly too big to fly with in cabin which really sucks wondering if this is just me being irrational or if other people feel like this as well. 293 Comments + Award •..

Font - notcleverenough111 · 6 days ago You just have to do your research, just like for a kid's daycare. Look for a staff training curriculum/certification, webcams, regular boarding updates would be nice, feeding process, what types of cleaning supplies they use, how they evaluate dogs to become a member and how they evaluate dismissals, separating by size, positive reinforcement, read reviews (with a grain of salt), etc. 263 Reply Share •..

Font - emliz417 · 6 days ago Also ask about their staff-dog ratio! A lot of daycares will cram up to 50 dogs in one room with one staff member. This is definitely not safe and how accidents happen.

Font - Future_Dog_3156 · 6 days ago It's hard but you have to find someone you trust. can be a family member or neighbor. We found a sitter we love on rover. They have one dog. They really treat her like their own dog so we did board w them over the holidays. There are daycares/boarding places that have webcams

Rectangle - freedom_oh · 6 days ago If I go on vacation, the pup goes to my sisters. He was hers originally, and she can handle him for a few weeks before he drives her crazy. Lol I wouldn't trust anyone else to have him and deal with his reactivity.

Font - waywithwords · 6 days ago Brat (Boston Rat terrier mix) and Foxhound I've only ever had in-home house/pet sitters for my pups and will continue to do so. They're more comfortable in their own space and on their own routines which means I'm more comfortable.

Font - ProfessionUnknown · 6 days ago There are alternatives, I have someone who stays with my dog at my house who's first aid certified, insured, etc. There is also home boarding with people who only take one dog at a time. Remember you also only see the horror stories online - no one posts that they went away and everything was fine
