Moving to a new country is a challenging feat, especially when the person moving doesn't speak the language in the country they're going to. Because many people around the world speak English, we don't experience the feeling of alienation that comes if we don't speak the language. In the places we've traveled to where speaking English isn't as common, admitting that we struggled to communicate with many people is an understatement. It was so difficult to figure out how to get places without language skills on our side. It was definitely a reality check for us, and we need to brush up on our foreign language skills so we can travel more effectively next time we plan another big trip. Immigrants who have come to America have had their fair share of slip-ups with English too. Twitter user @wiz_khalidah tweeted about how her dad was trying to call her a feminist but accidentally called her a womanizer instead, which are two very different things. People took to the comments to share their parents' own hilarious mistakes when it comes to mastering English.
