It’s Time To Stop Hating On New Adult Novels With These Five Titles
New Adult refers to a genre of fiction with protagonists between the ages of 18-30. The themes are often centered around issues such as sex, dating, college life, career choices, etc. Unfortunately, NA has a name for being "trashy", often portraying unhealthy relationships, and well, basically, NA is often synonymous with smut. But can these critics kindly put their opinions in a mother**ing box and move it the mother**ing left?
If I wanted to stimulate my mind, I'd read For Whom the Bell Tolls. No judgment, if that's what you read to unwind! Personally, after attending that meeting that could have been an email, I want to use my last remaining brain cell on watching the latest episode of Selling Sunset. And every so often, I prefer a steamy, sexy, NA romance novel.
The market is saturated with NA novels and while many of them deliver on the trashy/smutty scale, others are poorly executed. Therefore, I've created a list of the 5 best NA novels that offer plenty of hot romance, swoony men, and top-tier smut. You're welcome.

This book has some steamy sex scenes. Like, damn, Hoover knows how to write love scenes like no other. I mean, did Hoover put crack in this book? because it's so addictive. The only thing missing from this book was an airplane sex scene. Come on, he's a pilot - it should be a given!

Garrett, John, Dean, and Tucker are campus royalty: they're hot, smart and they each belong to an elite hockey sports team. Each book is dedicated to one of the men and their respective romantic interests.

This series will make you smile, giggle, blush, and fall in love with fictitious characters (big, charming, muscular hockey players? Yes, please!) It's just pure escapism and each book just flies by. The sex scenes are hot AF and honestly, that's really what we are here for.

Ok, technically, not sure this is marketed as New Adult but I simply cannot leave this out, so go with me on this one. Piper Belanger, is a young, fun-loving, influencer who lives in L.A. After getting into some trouble, her stepdad cuts her off and sends her to live in a small fishing town so she can learn some responsibility. It's there she meets the grumpy, sexy, bearded boat captain, Brendan. These two are polar opposites but have a strong undeniable attraction towards one another.

This book was like reading a rom-com; It's light and witty. The smut in this book is off the charts. Bailey does not hold back. Just go pick it up. Bye! I'm off to go look for my own bearded boat captain.

The day before beginning her senior year, 18-year-old Maise O'Malley has a one-night stand with Evan at a carnival. But to her utter shock, it turns out he's her film class teacher. They try to fight their attraction, but will they have the willpower to resist? I mean, duh. Obviously not. Thus the basis of this book's appeal.

IMO this is one of the best-written NA novels out there. It's one of the most realistic and honest portrayals of a female protagonist. Plus, it's beautifully written and full of hot and forbidden sex.

Fantasy meets romance? Check. Enemies to Lovers? Check. Feyre is a 19-year-old huntress who is taken to the faerie land of Prythian after she kills a magical creature that she mistakes for a wolf.

Her captor is Tamlin, one of the seven high lords of Prythian. Their hostility slowly turns into passion, which starts off with a slow burn and lots of sexual tension. You know what they say: it's a thin line between love and hate.
