It's always nice to know your neighbors' pets. While walking around, you can wave at the pretty kitties in the windows watching cat TV, or say hello and give some scratches to all the dogs walking around the block. Just be careful that you're not too nice to those pets, or else they might decide they want to come to live with you instead of with their owners! The original poster (OP) who made this Reddit thread has some first-hand experience with that issue, as their neighbor's cat has been coming over and chilling on the back stoop almost every day!
If there's a pet loose in your neighborhood– especially a cat– it's important to keep track of what you know about that animal. How long have they been outside? Do they belong to somebody? Are they being fed? The OP here was asking themself all those questions and more, which is why they were able to comfortably laugh about this cat's position on their back porch. If the animal wasn't being fed, or didn't have a warm shelter at night, this wouldn't be such a funny thread. But, as you'll see OP explain, this is just an example of an animal going and doing some errands during the day! He'll still be home in time for dinner, and he probably left a note on the counter telling Mom how long he'd be gone. Aren't cats just the greatest? Scroll down to check out how this little fella found his way to his new hangout spot, as well as to hear the rest of Reddit's best stories about cats visiting their neighbors!
This little gray cat with her striped tail and pointed black ears looks like she feels right at home on this person's back steps! She's relaxing on that cold concrete and keeping an eye on the inside of the house. OP commented that on the day this picture was taken, the family was receiving and putting together new dining room chairs. Seem like this cat is really engaged with that project too, though!
As OP explains, this kitty is just getting some air during the days while its owner heads to the doctor and gets well. OP is making sure not to overfeed the sweet thing, or neglect it when it comes by. They even said later in the thread that they're going to start stepping outside to play with the cat and give it some socialization as well!
