Woman Chastized for Accidentally Wearing White To 'Surprise' Wedding

Life is full of unspoken rules. Things that you don't necessarily have to do, but you probably should anyway. Some of these things involve lifting up the toilet seat after going to the bathroom, cleaning up your plate after eating dinner, and offering to split the bill on a first date. There are so many things that are expected of you even though there isn't really any kind of punishment if you don't adhere to these rules. Another thing that we do is because we probably should refrain from wearing white to a wedding. No, we don't know exactly where this rule came from but we think you can gather that the gist of it has to do with not trying to compete with the woman getting married. No, the venue will not burst into flames if you show up in a silky white gown, but it's just common courtesy.

However, this was a surprise wedding, so the 'culprit' really had no chance of knowing the ceremony would even take place. Should she have done more research? Who do you think is in the wrong here?
