This General Manager saw fit to visit their worker's home, called her mother, and even called the police for a welfare check after she went home sick, all part of a malicious ploy to punish her for going home sick.
When pressed about the issue by the employee, the General Manager reportedly told her, "I knew you were there; you need to come back immediately. [W]e have no one to cover you. I'll wait out here to follow you."
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by Reddit user u/Real-Card7880, who shared her story to the popular employment subreddit in order to vent and put the General Manager on blast.
"After a couple of minutes, I get a phone call from my mom," the poster shared. "[She was] sobbing that my GM called her saying I was MISSING. MISSING."
The obscene actions of the GM brought about some impassioned responses from furious readers in the comments
"I didn't think it could get crazier after having the GM show up banging at the door." said user u/lil_sebastian13. "WHO THE F#@K CALLS THEIR EMPLOYEE'S PARENT AND LIES THAT THEY'RE F#@KING MISSING? WHAT. THE. F#@K."
"MY mom would have called her back and told her off for making her that worried over a lie." responded another user, u/bunnyrut.
