Horse Kicks: One Unbelievable Company is Creating Designer Shoes for Horses

The person that invented the metal horseshoe in the mid 1800's was onto something. For centuries, humanity has been attempting to protect the feeties of our favorite enormous equine friends and honestly, the metal horse shoe has been effectively doing the job for a long time now. However, recently one company decided that a metal horseshoe wasn't enough and has launched a new startup company that specializes in something nobody ever asked for, wanted, or needed: Designer sneakers for horses.

And yes, it's exactly what you're picturing and the public is absolutely dying over the announcement, some in horror and others with excitement.

It's no secret that people who are sneaker people are very serious about their shoes. Some collectors will pay tens of thousands of dollars for designer footwear only to let it sit in a case on display, never to be worn in real life. What we never realized as a public is that there is apparently a market for the same kind of shoe, but meant to be worn by a literal farm animal, slogging through hay, mud, and who knows what else.

Horse Kicks, the equine shoe startup, is proposing and launching several different styles of horse sneaker that are all modeled off of classic designer styles including Nike, Air Jordans, Supply, and even New Balance

People in the comment section are absolutely losing their mind over these shoes. Not only do they look silly, but they perform literally no function. Usually the function of a designer shoe is to reflect the wearer's style as well as their wealth and affluence. But what does a horse care about that? And why would a human being out a lace up hoof-shoe onto their horse? The motive is truly baffling and commenters everywhere are poking fun at the demographic.

I mean, how could you not.

Sure, the horse is being a very good boy, but what the heck?

Whether people are stoked on the shoes or simply making fun of them, these dapper horses are certainly going to be stealing the spotlight to any barn they walk into. Other horses obviously won't care, but it's like when you see a dog in a tutu at the grocery store. Yes, it makes no sense to dress a dog in a tutu, but it's cute, the dog doesn't mind, and it's an attention grabber.

So if you have a horse that you want to be show stopping, granting you all the attention in the world (positive and negative), it's time to go shoe shopping for your hoofed bestie. Time to swag out your filly.
