At first, the older house kitty was no happy, and it was kind of frightening for even have them in the same room together. But Duff made sure to approach this situation with patience and love. So carefully and lovingly, they allowed the two to get to know each other.
The first four days was constant swatting from the older cat and hissing. They would have to push the older cat away from the kitten so he wouldn't hurt her. However, eventually they started playing through a door together.

By day 5 they were playing together like there was never any tension between them. The older cat took the sweet kitten under his wing and Duff even found him cleaning her, as if he were her mama. It was adorable.
You can also see them playing together after a week and you can see that the older cat is being much more gentle and careful with this kitten. A huge change from just earlier that week when he would hiss and swat at her anytime they were near each other.
Again, this isn't an easy process. It's important to take things slow and trust your gut. If you think these cats will never get along, then you're probably right and should re-home one of them. However, if you think there is a chance, then it is about patience and safety. Eventually the two will at least get used to each other, and then hopefully fall in love with each other.
