'The story of an ancient being named Hannibal': The sweetest black cat gets rescued off the street, turns out to be hella old

Yes, yes, cats can get to be quite old—everyone knows that person who has a like 20-something-year-old cat. And the oldest cat  allegedly lived several days past 38 years old. That's pretty insane if you think about it, that cat outlived tons of healthy humans. It's just not too often that you find a very senior cat who just wonders off the street and comes cuddle with you as if they were a freshy looking for that special human to take care of them. But that is exactly what happened with a woman came across a lone black cat that she has now named Hannibal.

The woman has experience fostering and working with cats, so she wasn't out of her element when a cat approached her on the streets and wanted to come home with her. She, of course, let the little guy into her home and decided to take him to the vet the very next day. There, they found out that he was chipped, but had no registered owner. They also surprisingly found out that the chip was placed all the way back in 2007!

15 doesn't seem too old for most cat owners, but you can imagine how surprised this woman who just rescued this senior cat must have felt. She was confused and doubled down on her efforts to find this little guy's family, because surely he was just lost and had a home. No way he has been thriving on the rough and tough streets for that many years.

Currently, this baby boy (well, old man) is the woman's cat now. The internet is rooting for her efforts to find out if he has a family, but they also side with the fact that cats choose their humans and she was chosen. Hannibal, with his two different colored eyes, truly feels like a wise god that has come to protect his chosen human. The stuff familiars are made of.
