We've said it before, and we'll say it again: People need to stop falling for engagement-baiting food videos. If you think you don't know what we're talking about, I'm sorry, but yes you do. We're referring to those videos where some heavily made-up housewife slathers her kitchen island with nacho cheese as some sort of entertainment hack. We're talking about the bastardization of Italian recipes, and people pouring cheese over things that have no business being so lactose-ified. Unfortunately, the creators of these videos show no sign of losing steam. They're in it to win the engagement bait game, and my god, it's working.
The latest food video to rile up the Internet with its utter stupidity comes from the TikTok account @foodsfuns3. A quick glance over their feed reveals nothing out of the ordinary unless you're watching you're allergic to preservatives. The videos are pretty basic, until you reach this monstrosity from March 10th.
The video shows viewers how to make pasta… from pasta. And the damning thumbnail shows the "chef" dumping a box of angel hair pasta into a blender. In a moment that would scar any self-respecting (or even self-deprecating) Italian, she uses the Oster blender to grind the pasta to create a sort of flour. She then adds eggs to the mixture and goes on to create the worst-looking "fettucine" I've seen in my life. Needless to say, the people of Twitter had a lot to say on the matter. If this isn't some sort of stupid prank, we're a lot more worried about the future than we already were.
