Driver Named Karen Receives "Hater" License Plate, Implores DMV to Change It
As somebody who's ambivalent at best about cars, I never got the hype around custom license plates. They're funny sometimes, but it just seems to me like another needless expense in the already pricey practice of maintaining a vehicle.
What has never crossed my mind when it comes to this topic is that some people shell out for custom plates because they don't like what the DMV gave them. Being called Karen is tough enough these days, without encouraging the road rage. That's why @karenmota30 took issue with the new plates that she had been sent for her BMW.
Ranting on TikTok about this unwelcome surprise, viewers couldn't help but see the funny side. As far as many of them were concerned, she had been given an unexpected gift. While Karen might come around to this point of view in time, she seemed pretty set on paying to change her plates. She can't be blamed.
