Teachers better be careful when enforcing silly rules. As the son of a former teacher, I am sympathetic to the fear that students will just be playing games if laptops are allowed in class. That being said, wouldn't that be their loss when it's time to test them? In my experience, people will always find an excuse to zone out and not pay attention. So even if laptops are forbidden in the classroom, they will always find a way. Now, in defense of students, it is simply far easier to keep up with what teachers are saying when you can take notes on your computer. You can often type faster and you know you'll be able to read your own writing after class. Teachers who are still foolishly clinging to the idea that laptops are merely a distraction need to get with the times.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Sheepy_Dream, who was not allowed to use a laptop in Spanish class. So what did they do instead? Well, OP happened to also be a collector of typewriters, so they found an excuse to use one of those loud, antiquated machines instead. It would not be long before their teacher reversed her decision. Keep scrolling below for the full story. When you're finished, feel free to check out this story about students who found a way to be late to class with minimal punishment.
