Everybody wants to be able to return home to a lovely house with a white picket fence, a few children, and possibly a cute dog. However, nobody informs you about the true costs of living in a tiny town. Sure, there are a lot of things that I wouldn't trade for the world. I mean, I love that my neighbors are kind, that the bus drivers know me by name, that my kids can ride their bikes and walk to school without a care in the world, and that all of my friends are approximately five to ten minutes away. However, there are a few minor points that I think ought to be mentioned. When in a small town, there is not a shred of privacy. Moving to a tiny town means that everyone knows EVERYTHING about you. Therefore, if you're considering moving to a small town, be warned that you won't be the same simple person living a simple life—overnight, you'll become the talk of the town.
