When we were little girls, we all believed in true love. If we were delulu enough, we might have even believed in love at first sight– wholeheartedly! While there's nothing wrong with a little childhood fantasy, my reasonable self has lived enough life (and gone on enough dates) to know that this whole dating thing is not at all what it's like in the movies… or is it? 

One movie in particular stands out as the zenith of romanticized romance: The Princess Bride. Although I'm a jaded adult who's been on many failed dates and wondered where my very own farm boy is, this is a movie I will happily be delusional over. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that we all can fall in love with a poor boy who says three words to us (literally) before he gets shipped off in a boat to his ultimate demise. I believe that it is possible for this same man, to get inordinately wealthy for no reason whatsoever, come back to find us, and save us from a terrible marriage to a bad, bad man. There's nothing delulu about it– Princess Bride is a documentary about how love should and could actually be.
